What is their grievance?

Elimination of Dean positions and inserting himself into power in the Med School (weird set up IMO).

Hiring and firing a well respected researcher within months and taking the role. Forget the name...but pretty sure it was in the Engineering school.

Not sure what the English department is mad about.

Eliminating research outlets and opportunities which has led to a drop in rankings.

Wait, you're blaming SJWs and liberals because your chancellor decided to go on a crusade against Planned Parenthood? WTF does your chancellor have to do with abortions? Doesn't he understand that it's about FOOTBALL and not about fricking political red herrings?

Mizzou will never win at football, but not because they are liberal, but because they don't have their priorities straight.

How fricking stupid and typical, the english department spending their time on trying to remove a leader over planned parenthood instead of figuring out a way to make their academic lives meaningful.

It's the English department. Their academic lives were never meaningful.

He oversaw a pretty precipitous drop in the US News rankings while at A&M.

Also went all-in on expanding enrollment to like 75,000 students (which would make the rankings drop even further).

But most aggies didn't realize this because they were too busy chanting "SEC, SEC, SEC."

I disagree but i'm not a liberal. of course, compared to the extremist right wingers around here, my independent and moderate status is called liberal. basically, I abhor fascism but that's in with the majority here.

Loftin should not have shut down the clinic. it is a FACT that women will seek abortions and will go to non certified people to do them if necessary. this debate over the legality and morality of abortions has been going on for 50 years. it is legal and many feel (the majority) that early abortions are not murder.

Let's also mention that the local black congregation wanted him fired because a random drunk student used the N word one day.

Apparently the Chancellor of Mizzou is responsible for what every student thinks and says.

I'm 3000 miles away so I don't know the full story about what's going on campus, but a lot of it is ridiculous.

Loftin didn't shut down the clinic. The PP clinic was being operated on a tenuous link to legality based upon an odd designation for the PP's staff physician. MU Healthcare unanimously voted to rescind that odd designation which meant that the clinic didn't have a doctor with hospital privileges at a local hospital. So, the clinic, like any other ambulatory surgical center, simply needs a real doctor with real privileges at a real hospital to be their medical director to continue to perform surgical procedures. It's certainly inconvenient for them to have to follow the laws governing surgery centers but it's really in the patients' best interests.

Planned Parenthood was exposed as a barbaric organization and it deserves zero federal funding. I don't blame him for wanting to limit their controversial practices on campus.

I disagree. This is real SEC news for once. Better than the same jack off threads over and over.

I noticed UGA just opened one this year.

It is regularly displayed in Sanford Stadium on Saturdays.

No idea why we are introducing politics into this.

Poor move by Mizzou, IMO
