It's politically incorrect to tell the truth. The truth hurts but it's still the truth.

I like the west wing. I like good BBQ and i love pizza just like everyone else. I like Budweiser and to shoot pool. I like big dogs. I generally were polo shirts and polo shorts but also wear khakis and spurrys about 80% of the time. I play call of duty and NBA 2k. I love history documentaries. I was raised in church just like everyone else in the south.

Im of the generational belief like your in laws. Dont dislike blacks at all, but don't want the races mixed. Thats how I grew up.

One of our daughters however has been in a black/white relationship recently. I had a very hard time with this I will admit. However, eventually you have to come to the realization that what matters most are a few things.

1. Does he love and respect your daughter?
2. Is he good to her?
3. Is he a good provider, or will he be?
4. Is he honest?
5. Does he respect others and have good family values?

Those have nothing to do with color. Its about being a good person. While I still struggle some with this topic, at the end of the day, if she loves him, and the dude hits those 5, Im ok with it.

Still not ideal, because I think mixed kids take more shite that non mixed, but when I go to my grandsons kindergarten class, I see about half the kids are some sort of mix. Maybe that generation simply wont see color.

This old fart continues to evolve.

I have a lot of respect for this post.

It's a must for all of us to continue to evolve when it comes to social issues. There's fellow blacks I would love to bash with a baseball bat over their head's when they open their mouths on issues of race. Those who are entrenched with ignorance & narrow mindedness allow the ugliness of prejudice & hatred to continue smoldering below the surface of today's society.

Tbird is married to a white gal from South Carolina and I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. I would guarantee that their marriage is better than at least 70% of white/white marriages.

I don't judge people based on the color of their skin...I judge them by their character. If my daughter had married a black fella instead of the cheating pos white dude she did marry and the black guy treated her well, I'd be fully in support of it. I give zero shits about the color of the person someone marries as long as they are happy together. That is all that counts.

I'm sure Ag won't mind if you get me plastered as long as it's when I still have a night left to stay while I'm there!

And I think the world of you, Tbird. Cannot wait to meet you and your wife at the game!! October can't get here fast enough!! If y'all happen to come to SC before then to visit the SC contingency of y'alls family, let me know! We'll all go out!

I'll absolutely let ya know when we swing through there! Probably not before this year's game but hopefully within the next year or two. Looking forward to that as well!
