There was a recent study that shows the total amount of land ice is growing. Many areas, the collapsing shelves we hear so much about, are shrinking at an alarming rate. Antarctica is currently a sink mitigating sea level rise though.

Rubio is alot closer to establishment R's. Cruz is the closest actual conservative running. He would be mainstream R 20 yrs ago. The country and the party has shifted left by a good margin in a generation's time.

This is physics, not biology.

The relationship between increasing CO2 and increasing radiation forcing are well studied and well known. You increase the CO2 concentration, less energy can escape the atmosphere and thus...warmer, all else being the same.

Ok. Cow farts. Volcanos. Nature. Termites create more CO2 than humans in their consumption of cellulose.

Exxon's been pushing a carbon tax for nearly a decade. The lawsuits are BS. If you think carbon is truly killing the planet then outlaw its use for fuel. There are plenty of more expensive, less reliable options. Otherwise this is just a money grab.

I think it's more of punishing a company for deliberately misleading their investors.

On phone, google it. Scientists and entomologists teach it.

Termites create so much, they make co2 sensing devices for the termite industry for noninvasive detection of them in homes.

Cellulose is made by plants, which took in the CO2 to make the cellulose.

The reason humans are pointed to is we take carbon out of the ground and release it into the atmosphere. Thus adding carbon to the system. Eating plants and producing CO2 is just putting the CO2 back that the plants took away.

ETA, it's why if you ignore the energy to get food to market humans breathing is carbon neutral. We got the carbon from plants which got it from CO2 in the atmosphere.

The fact remains, they create and release more than humans.

Your conclusion here is so fricking stupid it really needn't be dignified with an answer. Did you ignore all that shite about the carbon cycle in middle school?

They don't "create" it. They had to get the carbon from somewhere, and it was CO2 in the air that plants used to make sugars and cellulose.

Humans add more to the atmosphere without taking it away from getting the carbon from underground.

How did they deliberately mislead? The studies were public knowledge as were the board notes. Do you honestly think studies done in the 80s were more accurate than models of today that continue to struggle with decade over decade temperature predictions? And not that it matters for the lawsuit but the investors weren't harmed.

I love science. I'm an engineer. What I don't like is stupidity, which you're exhibiting in spades. Go relearn middle school science.

More humans, more needs. Maybe the real answer is genocide and reducing the number of humans,

He's right Hunter.

Conservation of Mass. Can't create or destroy it (well...mostly but we need not consider nuclear reactions here). So the carbon the plants used to make sugars come from the CO2 they breathe in. So the termites "creating" CO2 are really just part of the cycle of CO2 to sugar to CO2.
