Just in general, are we in this country, and in this chat room, deciding to not care and just let morals given to us by our parents end with us, and not reach our children?

lol

What's funny is your parents and their parents before them said the exact same thing about their children

quote:

My good friends wife said, in our thursday night small group, that she doesn't know anymore if it's not alright to be gay.

"Not sure if it's not alright"

Have we just decided to give up? Had enough of the fight? Not sure if it's not alright.

You're a moron

Check back with me when we're in heaven and let me know which one of us God thinks is a moron. Homosexuality is just one of the many was we're not perfect, unlike God, who is perfect.

That's all fine for y'all for those who gays don't effect, but what happens when a gay couple wants me to perform their wedding ceremony? A service I offer and depend on for income?

Are you registered as a business? Or do you depend on donations for your participation in the wedding ceremony?

Not a business? Then you're fretting over nothing. Neither you or your church/synagogue/mosque or other house of worship are compelled to participate in a marriage ceremony for straights, gays or any other legal pairing now or in the future.

Do you have a legal business and pay taxes to the government? I rather doubt this is the case but if it is, you are required to offer your services/products to everyone in the market place.

If you are operating a business without a license, then you are courting the wrath of the IRS. Your concerns with same sex marriage and your morals would be of little consequence by comparison.

BTW, I doubt very much that you will ever encounter a gay couple who wants your services, be they legal or not.

Typical smugness from someone who plays around with the name of God while not taking it seriously. If you don't mind me asking, are you by chance an unbeliever?

I'm going to assume we have different definitions of being "raised right"

I'm an ordained minister, and I pay my taxes. And despite the legalities between the two, I was just pointing out that gays can in fact effect me and my job. If a gay wanted to make things difficult for me he or she could do that very easily. Luckily I myself haven't been put in that situation. It's not alright when that happens. I've had friends in the ministry who were used for just such a soundboard by gays.

So by believing what the bible says to believe I'm being judgmental.
yes.

Just because some book of fairy tales tells you to discriminate against a portion of the human population, doesn't make it right.

I'd say your posts are a clear indication of just how immoral you are. You disgust me.

More of an agnostic, but grew up going to a Methodist church.

So now you're attacking me? What did I do? I just wanted to introduce myself. I should've left the part about what my friend's wife said out of it. I'm sorry.

It was ok growing up. Never really considered myself "Methodist". Couldn't tell you the difference between Methodist, Baptist, and non-denominational.

I'm not attacking you. However, you call yourself a youth minister and here you are calling someone a circus animal.

What's wrong with that? I can't call a person a circus animal? Can you help me find the scripture for that?

Either way, I'll be praying for you. I want you to know that.

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV)

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Proverbs 12:18 ESV

There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Proverbs 11:12 ESV

Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.
