I never saw a gun in the video but that's pretty irrelevant anyways. If the cops were called and they think he has a gun then they're going to be on high alert.

It seems to me though that they had pretty good control of him. But I also don't think they'd shoot him for no reason so I'm inclined to believe he was reaching for his pocket which caused their reaction. I'd like to see a statement from the cops to hear what they say happened. Either way I'd wait for the results of an investigation before making a final judgment.

And like you said he wasn't innocent so I don't really feel bad for him. There's zero excuse to be wrestling with cops.

This stuff is really bad for African Americans.

1. They now look like legit targets for cops.
2. Any wrongdoing the cops do looks like self defense.

Given all the folks around here who start jerking off with their guns after a school shooting I thought I'd get like a 5% idea of what that felt like. Not that good. Can't imagine what it's like to be in their heads

Yeah, my sister-in-law lives on one side of New Ballwin and my mother-in-law lives on the other side. I literally drove down New Ballwin a few hours earlier going to work. Crazy as shite. Gonna bet I know the cop who was shot but I haven't seen his name or picture.

I have yet to see or read what happened prior to the Minnesota shooting. Everyone watches the aftermath video with zero context and assumes he was shot because he's a black man.

Check it out. I agree, one can't make an informed decision base solely on the video, but after watching the video, you can tell by what is said by the Officer and the driver, things didn't work out as planned.
I don't think the LEO was acting outside his purview necessarily, but I do think it highlights room for improvement for the department.
Consider yourself, a CCW holder, being shot for doing exactly what you're told, after having told the officer you had a CCW, and were carrying a loaded firearm. IF that's the case, that's really fricked up.

Agreed, but as you said we don't know what happened up to that point. I'm suspicious of the officer's decision to shoot him, but that is based entirely on the girlfriend's statements and video.

As far as the BR guy goes, he was armed. He was fighting with the cops. If you check those two boxes, your odds of getting shot are incredibly high regardless of skin color.

I hope that MN cop has a body cam, so we can see what he saw.

IF he did end up shooting that guy for following his instructions, then that cop should be arrested.

IF the guy didn't follow instructions and made an aggressive move, then it's a whole other ball game.

It happened in Harvey, LA right outside NO a few weeks ago too. Didn't even make it outside regional news. But God forbid a black guy gets shot (likely because of resisting)

Probably because you're a law abiding citizen. Wish more people would understand that.

The video also looks framed considering that it moves away and then comes back. Either way innocent people aren't being gunned down by the cops at any kind of rate. I don't always back the cops but these aren't outrages shootings. The left has an incredibly bad habit of picking shitty people to defend. The guy in BR had a rap sheet a mile long, mike brown wasn't a gentle giant, its safe to bet the guy in MN wasn't innocent either.

And the right is awfully good at victim blaming.

who is to blame for Altons death? the evidence points to him. The evidence showed Mike Brown was responsible for his own death.

Alton?

What evidence are you referring to?

Brown?

I agree.

Problem is, the right simply refuses to assess blame to an officer in any situation. Obviously there are bad eggs in any walk of life, but bad police operate with damn near impunity.

Weren't the police called to the scene originally because someone reported Alton waving and threatening someone with the pistol?

I blame officers all the time for doing stupid shite. However, I save outrage for good law abiding citizens that are killed at the hands of cops making mistakes like raiding the wrong house. I don't care if the cops kill criminals.

Alton had a rap sheet a mile long, its clear one of the officers pulled the gun he had at out of his pocket after the shooting. He chose to struggle instead of comply.

Every single story that the leftist have chased they have hitched their wagon to someone that was a career criminal or engaged in criminal activity just prior to law enforcement/the z man ending their careers.

i'm in the middle but stats say the right picks the correct side at a higher clip than the left. However, the real winners are those that look at each case individually. Alton deserved what he got, the shooting is clean. He wasn't some innocent man minding his business like the media is portraying.

The far more dangerous cops to the good average american is the drug task force teams that raid houses. They raid guns actually blazing.

I have no doubt 100 percent id survey an encounter with a regular cop even if they had a mistaken ID. id comply, go to the station, and then lawyer up.
