A St. Louis area police officer was shot Friday morning during a traffic stop, according to local news.
Fox2Now.com reports the suspect, described as a “tall, thin African-American male,” allegedly shot a Ballwin Police Department officer in the neck around 11am.
“A suspect was reported to be in custody after a foot chase in the area of Burgundy Lane in Manchester, several miles northeast of the shooting scene,” reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The officer was shot three times from behind, a St. Louis Post Dispatch reporter states.

After this and the Dallas incident, I think that it may embolden some other nutjobs to try to go out there and murder cops. I don't think this will be the last incident this weekend.

People are fricking crazy.

Good cops are being killed by psychopaths, and bad cops are killing innocent people.

It's hard to feel safe anymore.

This is only going to increase the number of bad cops as anyone who would be a "good cop" isn't signing on unless crazy

For those downvoting my post, did we not see more people sign up for the military after 9/11? Wouldn't you say there was increased risk that someone in the military would die at that time?

The people that signed up at that time were signing up to protect something they believe in. The "bad cop" type are cowards and wouldn't sign up at a time where they are more likely to get killed. While it may seem crazy to some to sign up to be a cop, there's plenty of good people who will see this and sign up because of this situation.

You're of course correct about post-9/11, but there's a significant difference. More people wanted to join the military after 9/11 because they wanted to defend America and/or kill Muslims. I'm no Islamophobe, but that's the plain truth. The LAST thing we need is more cops who want to kill perceived bad guys.

All this media hate has actually been terrible for police recruitment from what I've seen in the news.
Mobile AL

Out of 184 interested applicants, 114 have dropped out. “We’re dealing with a shrinking pool of applicants and so it’s a huge challenge for us to be able to deliver qualified law enforcement,” says Barber. Barber says it’s not that these potential recruits are scared to go up against the felons, it’s the potential backlash that they would receive from a situation where they would be defending themselves.

Baltimore

The number of uniformed officers in the mid-Atlantic city fell 6.1 percent last year and has shrunk by even more in the first half of this year, according to police data seen by Reuters and not previously reported. The fall in 2015 was the biggest decline in police numbers among nine comparably-sized U.S. cities reviewed by Reuters. The police force in Detroit and El Paso shrank by 4.9 percent and 4.3 percent, respectively, while Denver and Las Vegas saw increases of over 5 percent. (Graphic: tmsnrt.rs/28SL0kK)

I haven't even watched the BR video yet. The one in Minnesota looked questionable AF even though it didn't capture the events leading up to and including the shooting.

The guy in BR for sure wasn't innocent but the cops might have been a little overzealous. Can't quite tell because you can't see what's happening with that arm that's under the car.

I'll wait for further evidence in the MN one. All we see is what happened after the fact in that one so I don't know how anyone has already made a judgment on that one unless there's another video that I haven't seen.

BR suspect clearly had a gun on him, Cops were called because he had a gun. It appears to me they tried nonlethal measures and risked their safety to control him.

The video also looks framed considering that it moves away and then comes back.

Either way innocent people aren't being gunned down by the cops at any kind of rate. I don't always back the cops but these aren't outrages shootings. The left has an incredibly bad habit of picking shitty people to defend. The guy in BR had a rap sheet a mile long, mike brown wasn't a gentle giant, its safe to bet the guy in MN wasn't innocent either.
