What the frick. I bet you don't like crawfish boils, either.

No way.

I was SO GLAD when my family moved to Texas so I could start eating brisket instead of too-hot corn and red potatoes at social get togethers. I mean my mom can take down a few pounds of the things but I just can't get over the fact they are bugs.

I'll pass on anything that's soaked in brine, but what's wrong with brats and cod?

You definitely need to know what to add, and how much. It ain't like you just cook them up.

Sorta gross, but this is an Irish thing not a northern US thing. Most of the South has Irish roots and it's eaten often in the South.

I have Irish roots.

Thank God for the French roots I also have.

How are they not bugs? Isn't the nickname mudbugs?

I mean, something like shrimp live in the OCEAN. ocean. Meanwhile I had Crawfish that lived in my ditch growing up. A ditch! Gross.

Americans try Southern Food for the first time

I don't like half of what they tried.

A lot of Southern food is pretty disgusting and makes you feel like to shite to be honest.

And a lot of Southern food is quite delicious -
Red beans and rice, gumbo, shrimp creole, jambalaya, cornbread, southern fried chicken, blackened redfish, trout almondine or menieure, fried catfish, hush puppies, shrimp and grits, homemade biscuits, char-grilled oysters, oysters rockefeller and bienville, crab cakes, cochon de lait (roast pork loin), crawfish etouffe', beignets, shrimp remoulade, bread pudding with whisky sauce, not to mention BBQ in Alabama, North Carolina, Texas, etc.

You have to distinguish between southern food and Cajun food, or people here will throw a fit. I like it all though
