Honestly, it depends on the kind of work you do. A sedentary, office-like job is not a good match for hearty, rich food. If you consistently bust your physical arse then it is perfect.

You ever boiled andouille in Jameson for 12 hours?

Don't do it.

No. It's still terrible for you and makes me feel bad.

Many days I'm up at 5:30 and surfing for a few hours before work. Once I get to work I'm walking for 8-9 hours constantly. After work, I either work out or have a soccer game.

I eat at least 3,000 calories a day, but I try to make the right choices with those calories. Mostly because if I'm gonna consume bad calories I want it to be beer.

I generally avoid all of the above. Crab too.

If it is seafood for dinner I am hoping for fish, or maybe fried oysters.

A lot of what they SHOWED is not worth it to me either. There's some southern food I don't like either, but I just worry about the good stuff.
e.g. I have never heard of 'livermush' for what it's worth....

More for me, then. My doc says I am absurdly healthy, considering my habits, but that may be more genetic than anything. I only have to work HARD from late March-October, in the meantime I take it easy and eat like a pig.

Well frick your life.

Red meat is way worse for you than any kind of shellfish or crustacean.

char-grilled oysters, oysters rockefeller and bienville

i looked up a recipe for char-grilled oysters not to long ago and almost fell out of my chair. it was 24 oysters on the half shell, 4 sticks of butter, romano, etc and that was 4 servings so one stick of butter per serving. no freaking wonder they are so good but omg an artery just clogged thinking about it.

Yeah, char grilled oysters aren't something you want to eat often.

You have to distinguish between southern food and Cajun food, or people here will throw a fit. I like it all though
This

I love Creole/Cajun food and cook it all the time, it's what I was raised on from one side on my family. The other side was all Southern/Country cooking. I also love northeastern/Yankee foods as well.

I can't stand some of the shite people eat in the South though, i.e. pickled pigs feet, bbq'd pigs ears, chitlins, pickeled eggs cracklins, liver & onions, mustard greens, poke salad, fried chicken gizzards/livers, squirrel and other various road kill, varments, and wild game.

Nasty from a store, but damn good if you know the person who did it.

Say man, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this to you but... you seem to have a very large stick protruding from your arse.

I have found that eating southern food is often like drinking a lot of beer. You can love it and enjoy your time ingesting it, but after it settles it just kind of makes you feel sloppy and miserable for a while. You always go back to it though.
