Unless these vaccinations are like the flu one where you can still easily get it, I don't understand what y'all are worrying about.
Unless a lack of people getting immunizations results in a re-emergence of a previously eradicated disease and it mutates to where previous vaccines are no longer effective/not as effective.
But nothing to worry about.

Are we talking about the cancer kids here or just the ones whose vaccines didn't work?

Did you miss the part where I said they could get an exemption? They're not being forced to get them.

I know, I though we were entertaining a hypothetical government enforced vaccine program?

I know you are probably going to throw some numbers at me about the relative risk of each but I don't think it will sway me.

I wish there wouldn't be an increasing need to potentially enforce one. I think the boomer generation didn't hesitate in vaccinating their kids because they saw first hand disease epidemics. That's just my opinion though.
My generation and below are creating all this mess, because we're not faced with the fear of contracting polio and whatnot, so we have to create drama somehow.

Measles are not life threatening (at all). It's like chicken pocks. Woop. Who GAF? This is just some full-on consumer panic, freak out trolling. Seriously. Man up.

Not really, i just don't think the disparity will be large enough to tip the scales in my mind. Feel free to post the stats though.

I'm talking about kids who cannot get vaccinated suing the ones who choose not to.
Choosing not to is ignoring reason and a mountain of evidence showing the effectiveness with very rare risks of serious complications. That's negligence on the parents behalf.

And FYI, chickenpox can be lethal as well.

That's a reasonable scenario, I'd have to think on it though.

Are you functionally retarded? Serious question. Just google something before you make such an asinine post, for fricks sake.

Looks like Texas is proposing a bill that would bar students from public schools if they choose to not vaccinate for personal or religious reasons.
Kudos to them.

I'm shocked that a thread on this topic has gone for 6 pages. Well, I guess I'm not considering this is the OTB. But come on, people.
Public schools are there to serve the public. Requirements to attend them should include all reasonable precautions to preserve what is good for the majority of the general population. I had to be vaccinated against all those common diseases in order to attend. And I don't see any good reason why it should be different now. Protecting the mass of kids in close proximity to one another should be paramount.
Don't want to vaccinate your kids? Want to leave them at risk for polio, measles, etc? Fine. That's your choice. Find a other option for education. Don't put other kids at risk. It's pretty easy to me. Public schools should always do what is best for the majority of the public. That's vaccinating kids against deadly illnesses.
