I don't think you should be allowed to force someone to put something in their bodies. If the masses of unvaccinated souls scares you, then feel free to private or home school.

Or if they can't meet the requirements to vaccinate their child then they can home school them since that is their choice to not meet that requirement.

I like my way better. I don't like an overbearing government trying to micromanage individuals.

Just the opposite Eddie. The anti-vaccine people can private or home school. Nobody is forcing them to vaccinate. They shouldn't be able to force places to change their policies so their kids can attend establishments that require vaccines.

Public schools should be open to all with very little requirements.

- I don't have kids. Which way is it right now? Do are there vaccination requirements for public school entrance?

One of those requirements should be not putting others at risk for things that are incredibly easy to prevent.

Not when it presents a public health risk.

Yes, but you can seek an exemption. I posted an article that referenced it a little a couple pages back.

If you vaccinate your kid can they still get the disease?

Your "way" puts several children at risk. I don't like people who are too caught up in themselves that they dictate the safety of others.

If they are immunocompromised for some reason they could. A person like that could have received a vaccination, but their immune system didn't respond sufficiently to establish a protective titer.

Y'all need to find something else to worry about then and let people do what they do.

Unless these vaccinations are like the flu one where you can still easily get it, I don't understand what y'all are worrying about.

They're not like the flu vaccines Eddie. They work.

Because vaccines have thankfully allowed us to live in a world where we aren't dealing with a lot of the same epidemics we used to so people like you don't realize the dangers these diseases actually pose.

I can't believe you'd be for something that would endanger kids

I don't think you know what immunocompromised means.

Ya it's really tough to grasp what the diseases can do. You are missing the point though. It is t about is vaccination good or bad, it is about is the government requiring it good or bad.

Let's play out your hypothetical shall we? No more vaccination requirements foolhardy souls such as myself dominate this country and don't get vaccinated disease and death run rampant and then people will be like oh shite better start getting vaccinated.

More realistically though is that it would probably run a lot closer to the current levels of vaccination vs non. You'll vaccinate your kids and unless whatever UM was talking about they will be protected.

I don't, I took it to mean the unlikely chance the vaccination doesn't do what it's supposed to

So you'd be okay for kids with cancer to come down with one of these diseases because people believe Jenny McCarthy when she says vaccines are bad?

I mean it's terrible - just like its terrible if a kid dies from getting a vaccine. I know you are probably going to throw some numbers at me about the relative risk of each but I don't think it will sway me.

- it really comes down to being forced to do it. I just can't get behind it.

I only sign off on your plan if the parents of kids whos kids can't get the vaccine are allowed to sue the parents who choose not to vaccinate in the case their kid gets sick.
