Well, then we would know Pinkle's tendencies, so it is a wash.
On a sidenote, what does UF's S&C program look like? Arguably Gus' biggest hire was replacing our S&C coordinator. He really set the tone for our season, and has given us the best conditioned Auburn squad I've seen in years. Depending on y'alls OC/OL hire, you might need to tweak your S&C program.

What about Major Applewhite? I know he and Muschamp are friends...and Major has done a good job this season with the UT offense, despite a rash of injuries.

WM is telling recruits and current players that UF is going spread and up-tempo. Not sure his offensive background fits that vision.

Jeff Grimes (OL Coach @ VT) might be a guy to keep an eye on for a lateral move. He used to be the OL Coach for Auburn when Gus was the OC. Heard through a mutual friend that he wants out of Blacksburg (he doesn't think Scot Loeffler, current OC at VT, isn't going to last long).
A players' coach, has good technique, above average recruiter, knows the culture of the SEC.

I want to forget he was our QB coach.

I already purged from my memory the abortion he put on the field for us in 2012
We should have listened when y'all told us he was shite

That's being generous. I actually felt bad when VT hired him

I did on the NSD Auburn thread when I first joined. Y'all told me that was not the time to tell you he sucked and GTFO.

I think we should get the guy who programmed Tecmo Bowl.

Those of you who are younger Gators have no idea of who Kim Helton, Clays father, was/is. Kim Helton played under HC Ray Graves in the late 1960s during great and not so great times. The "super soph" team of John Reaves and Carlos Alvarez was in 1969. Kim Helton coached under Doug Dickey during the wishbone era and we had explosive offenses back then....just no defense to match it after the early 70s.
Memphis stint by Helton scares me a little...the Tigers were anemic at times and talent may have had something to do with that. It seems like he has flourished since and I would support him...as well as any OC who wears Orange and Blue. The problem with DC & OCs these days at elite programs is they are the immediate targets for fans unrest no matter the reason. Someone has to be blamed for a loss.
I love the Gator connection and I know Clays dad has no love lost on dawgie buttsniffers...as he was part of the WLOCP team humiliated in 1968 by a score I never repeat.

Any updates on who has been interviewed? I figured this hire would have been made by now...can't rush this type of decision though

Nobody has a clue, I am expecting something out of left field.

If hire is made early next week then the candidate may be coaching a bowl team and has been told how important it is to our program to get earlier start in recruiting. Most HCs wont let an asst stay on for bowl game if he is announced and HC feels he needs another asst to concentrate on their team not UFs...if he is a bowl coach. Some HCs might consider letting someone stay...not many.
If we hire someone who is not a bowl coach the fans will rev up the social media and wonder why we hired him.
