I believe the next OC comes off this list...

Mike Norvell
Blake Anderson
Tim Beck

What about Mazzone? It was rumored that UCLA made him a better offer, but then I heard it wasn't true.

He'd be my #1 choice. SEC and NFL experience + runs an up-tempo spread. Good balanced run game + shots down the field.

Thoughts on Beck? Doesn't really seem to fit the up tempo spread reports I think.

Personally, I like him. He runs a ton of zone read concepts. He had Taylor Martinez on his way to being a 3k yd passer, which is a minor miracle. The kid could barely throw a forward pass his FR year.

So what's the timetable looking like? Before the bowls or after? I'm tired of waiting

Doubt it. Maybe as a QB coach.

Right now if your life savings was on it, who would you say the OC is going to be?

Seriously?

Keep in mind the circumstances you are putting me in with your scenario. I am going to pick someone that has previous ties to WM, and is a friend of his. Plus he has experience in the up-tempo spread style O, which is what WM is trying to go to.

Would you be happy with Major?

I would, yes.

It depends on who the other realistic options are. There's a few I have ahead of him.

Jeff Barlis ?said he heard the hire will be made with in a week, and his best guess is Helton.

I saw that... I think he is connecting the dots, more than anything. Heck, he knows just as much as anyone else though at this point.

Helton has ties to UF (his father)
Helton has ties to WM (Agent Jimmy Sexton)
