What have y'all heard about former gator JC Jackson?
https://247sports.com/Player/JC-Jackson-16238

He was a pretty highly rated WR out of HS, signed with the gators, then got in trouble and was gone. Played at a JUCO last year, but has 3 to play 3 left. I saw his name start popping up on 247, but I haven't been looking at the computer much the past couple days, so I'm wondering what has developed.

ETA: just looked into his legal situation. He was up against felony armed robbery, but he was found not guilty. TRob was his recruiter at florida. He needs to get out of FLA, he ran with the wrong crew down there. He's going to play CB at the D1 level, and he was thought to be in position to start for them this year before the incident.

Eeeeeeks ... we gotta be real careful with the character issues. It can turn to poison quickly. Not sure if that would be a real wise move.

mUSChamp has some honeymoon time ... but he'll lose it if he has disciplinary problems right outta the gate. One bad apple ...

Do we even have room for five or six of those guys in the Kornblut write-up?

I guess we do since we unloaded three others here recently.

That would be considered a pretty strong finish on signing day.

Yes, the numbers always work out. We'll have some transfers after spring camp, some recruits won't qualify, etc....

I've been watching signing days at Carolina for the better part of the last forty years.

I remember like yesterday when we landed George Rogers ...... same thing when Herchel signed with UGA.

I remember something from just about every class since '76 when I first started paying attention.

I can honestly say with little hesitation that this is setting up to be one of the most interesting signing days in our history and, perhaps, a sign of things to come under this staff.

I've always said the true sign of a strong recruiting staff is how well they close. We've never really had strong closers on signing day. We've had kids wait until signing day in the past ... but, more often than not, it's been the leftovers.

I haven't been this excited since 2011 with Clowney, but I really hope to see some 2007 magic. That was a great signing day!

Those were big days but, for the most part, we had those classes wrapped-up.

Clowney waited until Valentines Day ... but still, he was one recruit.

But we may sign five or six or more this Wednesday. Kids we're really not sure about yet but good prospects, not leftovers.

We've never done that before that I can remember .... the chance to flip this many on signing day.

We'll see I guess. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't want to get your hopes up, but I noticed something interesting. Based on some of the information from this weekend and how TM at 247 feels about class we may sign, you may have a shot to get that 22nd ranked class. If 4*'s Karamo Dioubate and Stephon Taylor commit, that will push us to a Top25 class. Then if we get a couple of the higher 3*'s (even if they are sign and place guys} like Jamil Dukes, Aaron Thompson, R. Davis and M. McDaniels, then it's possible for us to hit #22.

My hopes are now officially up ... sky high even.

I was already excited about this class, but if I hit that jackpot I am going to be a happy camper.

I've already crunched the numbers. I'd hit the $500.00 jackpot plus the $750.00 would be divided into seven shares or roughly $107.00 per share of which I would have two shares at #22 and above. I'd stand to take $964.00 on a $100.00 investment in two squares.

Only three of us drew two squares at #25 or above and one of those guys dropped money on five squares.

Heck, I've already got it spent ... already got the new pistol picked-out.

This is exciting.

Commmmmme Onnnnnnn #22!

I don't expect us to see another #SpursUp until Wednesday ... and then I'm hoping to see six or seven of them.

I'll be a TV watching, Twitter following, fool all day Wednesday.

We need to get a post from someone in the know with the list of players that will be announcing Wednesday ... who have us in their final two or three. See if we can find direct links to their announcements, etc.

I'll do my part if someone will provide a list of those ten or so players we have a shot at on signing day. I'll try to find the best places to watch or follow online.

I've got guys cutting hay this week, one last time while it is dry ... but that's not until Thursday so I am gonna have plenty of free time today and tomorrow, before signing day.

Yeah just about everyone that was here this past weekend besides Stephon Taylor said that not only were we in the top 2 but that we had the lead.

WR Korey Banks - currently a commit to UNC. Twitter @__KB7 8AM at his HS (Sandy Creek) in Tyrone, Georgia. It may come down to USC, Alabama and UNC although it appears, at the moment, he is sticking with UNC.

WR Randrecous Davis - Twitter @dreak_1 10AM at his HS in Atlanta.

DE Jacoby Hill - see Davis above. Twitter Quince #15 @jacoby_hill15 but it is now being reported that he is once again favoring Memphis State. Who knows with this kid.

Atlanta boys On A Mission ?????? @__KB7 @Dreak_1

DT Karamo Dioubate - he's not tweeting from what I can tell but we can follow his signing day through his HS' twitter account @prepcharterfb

DT Aaron Thompson - Twiter @itsgreatness_99 this kid has a lot of good pictures of Boom and him on his twitter page.

ATH Stephen Davis Jr. ... no chance at this kid from what I've been told. He's going to sign with Auburn and the only reason he is doing what he is doing is because of what Marcus did a few years ago when he was in attendance. This one is Auburn all the way.

DT Stephon Taylor - Twitter @lah_bama 9:30 out of NOLA.

WR Jeriko Morris

I'll keep adding to this but I just stumbled across a free article on The State, which I never read and haven't for years, but still ...

quote:

National Signing Day is Wednesday, and South Carolina is position to add a few more prospects to its 2016 class.

The Gamecocks will have at least eight targets who are announcing on signing day, though it’s possible some decisions could be made public beforehand. Those prospects are denoted below with an “X.” Anyone listed without an X is already committed to USC.

Also, the times here are when the schools have events scheduled. The times when a prospect signs and sends in his National Letter of Intent won’t always correlate with when he’s officially confirmed and announced by USC.

Trivia ... we may sign more players from GA this year than from SC. Matter of fact, there is a good chance that this year's class will be made-up of the smallest percentage of South Carolinians in our recruiting history, for one class.

Since it looks like he might come to SC, if anyone is curious how to say/pronounce Randrecous Davis's name.

This year didn't have a lot of studs in SC like in '08-'11. There were a couple we would've liked who are going upstate though (Feaster, Pinkney and Simpson.) For most of the past 7 years, we've got the majority of instate guys we wanted. '17 and '18's in state classes are going to be better. I really like our shot with 4 of the Top6 in the '17 class right now.
