McDaniel is no longer a take for us, as a late addition. He did something bizarre during his visit that made the coaches want to pass on him.

What's this guy's story?

As expected. He can't be typically recruited b/c of the transfer rules, but his dismissal from UF is now at a year, so we are bringing him for a visit.

He's going to visit SC, Maryland and USF. I think we are looking really good here. He would come in a be a day1 starter for us (as long as he hasn't let his physical conditioning go to crap.) With him and J King coming in, our DB situation could be lightyears beyond what it was last year. King and Jackson at CB and Lammons/Elder and Smith at Safety. this would be a DB squad reminding of us years past.

I wouldn't go that far, but would be a nice addition.

After Spring 2015, JC Jackson was projected to start for florida. Both their CB's from last season are/will be high draft picks. He's going to be a shutdown CB for us, if he enrolls.

King was the #1 JUCO CB, who was a late qualifier, but still had offers from everyone. This CB position is more about explosive athletic ability and instincts, and these two guys have it. Jackson already knows this scheme that TRob and Muschamp, King will have to learn it, but his athletic ability and size is already better than the other CB's we have now. If we get both King and Jackson, it's going to make it tougher on QB's b/c there won't be a weakside/corner on the field. IMO, our pass defense will look like it did back in pre-2014

Just saw something on Twitter about Mykelle McDaniel getting the scores to pass. I couldn't find the link on GoGamecocks. Anybody know anything? This one has been a roller coaster.

247 said that we stopped recruiting him a couple months ago. We also were holding a spot for Cooperwood and JC Jackson to get us to 85 scholarships. Now that Ali Groves got the med hardship waiver and Cooperwood is on the fence to qualify we have 82 scholarships allocated.

IDK if we are going after McDaniel or not, he wasn't in the plan as of last week though.

SECCountry.com said that McDaniel told PK he will have his test score on July 20, and that he will know for sure where is going.

LINK

However, DawgNation.com is also stating that he is poised to attend UGA. Who knows?
