What about Chad Morris? I'm sure his record isn't all that good at SMU, but are his teams competitive, and score points? Does he look to be a good HC, or would we get some of the same? I really don't know and haven't researched before asking. Does he have the "stall" gene in his DNA, or does he keep the pedal down the whole time except in obvious situations you wouldn't?

I think he is a hardcore TAMU at heart.

I could see that. I think TAMU is in a similar situation we are. A coach that recruits well and has talent everywhere, but can't win with it.

Should finish 10-2 with their 2 losses coming by a combined deficit of 9 points.

Not bad for a drunk coach with a freshman qb

I don't even know why we are having a coaching search discussion because Jay Jacobs is the AD which means Rhett Lashlee in you next HC.

I didn't realize UConn's AD, David Benedict, used to be the COO at the Auburn Atheltic department. Does he want to come back and replace Jacobs

I don't think you can bring in Kiffin after all the softball problems that happened.

No please! He would bring Lashlee as the head coach and give him a $12 million dollar buyout.

I say bring in Les Miles and let him stabilize the program and get him an AD he can work with. He just can't bring Cam Cameron as his OC.

... and he'll bring Joey Freshwater to play ball while he's here.

Bob Stoops is 57, I'm not sure if he'd be willing to start over at that age. Kiffin is 42, he could be something good in 5-10 years but I don't think so right now. It still irks me we passed on Kirby Smart and went with Gus.

What is everyone's thoughts on Mike Bobo? He is at 1.55 mil on salary right now.

He could be but he will probably end up being a bigger trainwreck than the coach we currently have.

If my memory serves me correctly, the vast majority of AU fans didn't want us to hire Smart because he had too much Bammer in him.

I could be wrong, but I think Stoops has really retired. His dad died from a heart attack or something, and I think I read somewhere that he attributes his death to coaching.

I remember that too. Honestly I don't know who's out there that would be a good fit for us as of right now. Hopefully there's a diamond in the rough somewhere. We all have our wishes, I just hope we don't settle for less again.

Some of these suggestions are comical.

Penn State OC Joe Moorhead is a super hot name right now. He's not a southern guy so I'm not sure if that becomes an obstacle, but he's got some HC experience taking his Alma-mater Fordham from 1 win to 12 wins in his second year, and he's been dynamite since his arrival at Penn State.
