Survived 2 NOAs from the NCAA, but it's a civil suit from Nutt that will do him in? Freeze very well maybe fired at some point but it's not because Nutt sued him. This dude needed some content to get some clicks since he's not even at media days

I swear, Ole Miss fans are still in denial. They just aren't very bright. I'm actually curious as to how they'd react in finding out that there is no such thing as Santa Clause, the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy.

He isn't alone. It seems most of the Ole Miss fans I know feel this way.

He will be employed at Ole Miss until the NCAA gives him a show cause. Ole Miss won't fire him.

If articles like this were ever accurate, Freeze would have been fired over a year ago.

Personally, I don't care. I hope the school keeps him even if the NCAA hands down a 3 year bowl ban and more scholarship losses. Name one person we will get that's better

This is super sad, honestly. You don't believe you could get any coach ever that could win 9 games for you? How low do you view your program? Your willing to accept a coach getting your program hammered for only moderate success?

Who can you get better? You can't find anyone better that will not turn your football program into a replica of reactor 4 at Chernobyl? Stick a pin in your bubble to get out and look at what a dumpster fire everyone sees the Ole Miss program as right now.

So you have absolutely crippling sanctions coming down from more violations since SMU.. you have a coach that is shown to have called up and lied to journalists and also lied to recruits to hold together a class... you have players admitting on national TV that they were paid along with shots of the accompanying text messages.. and you can't think of anyone better?

Every coach and every fan of every other program will always see Freeze as a cheating liar.

Hell. Really wanna find someone better? Start with a classified ad in the local paper.

You make a good point, but if it reaches that level it is more about the perception of the university and the rebuilding process for the next decade. You can't have a guy continue to be the public face of your university when he is the one who got you in the mess to begin with. And god forbid if he got caught cheating again. The NCAA would actually give OM the death penalty then.

If Hugh Freeze is fired, it won't be because of Houston Nutt. I imagine. Ole Miss will pay him some money to go away,

If I were Houston Nutt I wouldn't settle, I would expose everything.

well, for starters, keeping David Cutcliffe in 2004. I'd venture to say you wouldn't be dealing with any of this and would have had a pretty solid program right now.

No freaking way. He would have at best gotten us to Shreveport every three years. You would have enjoyed Cut as our coach because you don't want Ole Miss to succeed.

There are many people that would be willing to accept millions of dollars for a lot less grief than Bucky will get. He played the game and got paid big money.

The fact is, Bucky has done pretty well for himself.

I agree with Roll Tide..I'd have fired both Freeze and Bjork a long time ago..just start over before the NCAA neuters us. I'd rather win 7-8 games every couple years with an up and comer (4 million a year in Oxford would bring that person) than deal with the bad smell that will live like a fog over Ole Miss as long as Freeze is head coach.

wow so it's easier to win at Duke than Ole Miss. I guess I understand why Hugh had to cheat. Can't win without cheating.

And Ole Miss fans don't seem to understand that no matter what happens from here, it's over for them. Hugh Freeze could remain their head coach but they will be, at best, a 6-7 win program. Because without the big bucks going to out-of-state blue chippers like Tunsil, Treadwell, Nkemdiche, they ain't going to be able to attract big-name talent to Oxford. Now that you've been caught with your hand in the cookie jar, EVERYONE is going to be watching you with a scanning electron microscope from here on out.

Cut was told to get a better DC and refused to do so and was fired.

Of course, if be had said ok, you are right, now give me half a mill a year to get one they would've laughed at him.

Almost no coach who gets his team on major probation keeps their job, even successful coaches like Tressel.

Latest from sources says that ole miss is in talks with Tommy Tuberville to possibly come in to take over on an interim basis for 2017.
