Nutt’s motives are not pristine here — he’s clearly bearing a cavalcade of grudges — but just because someone is motivated by bitterness and rancor doesn’t mean a lawsuit lacks validity. Nutt feels that he was wrongly blamed by Ole Miss coaches and administrators and he just unleashed his entire arsenal in this complaint, filed THE DAY BEFORE HUGH FREEZE ADDRESSES 1000 SEC MEDIA AT SEC MEDIA DAYS. To be honest, it’s gloriously maniacal in its gleeful derision. But it’s also devastating and rooted in a great deal of truth.

Put simply, I don’t know how Hugh Freeze keeps his job.

For months Ole Miss has argued Freeze wasn’t involved in NCAA violations, but Nutt lays out a clear and convincing case here that Freeze was involved in lying about his own staff’s involvement in alleged NCAA impropriety to keep the recruiting class of 2016 intact. Leaving a big question without an easy answer for Ole Miss faithful: If Freeze would lie to preserve his top recruiting class, why wouldn’t he also lie to preserve his job?

He will be employed at Ole Miss until the NCAA gives him a show cause. Ole Miss won't fire him.

If articles like this were ever accurate, Freeze would have been fired over a year ago.

Personally, I don't care. I hope the school keeps him even if the NCAA hands down a 3 year bowl ban and more scholarship losses. Name one person we will get that's better

Easily the single greatest and most ironic tweet in SEC Football history.

It's time to face facts, man....Bjork and Freeze are both going to lose their jobs over this. The evidence presented in this lawsuit gives Ole Miss enough evidence to fire both of them with cause.

Latest from sources says that ole miss is in talks with Tommy Tuberville to possibly come in to take over on an interim basis for 2017.

And even if they have cause, they shouldn't because they are the best coach and AD our school can get. Unless they did some Art Briles/Penn State level stuff, they shouldn't be fired.

well, for starters, keeping David Cutcliffe in 2004. I'd venture to say you wouldn't be dealing with any of this and would have had a pretty solid program right now.

Your school has zero morals, so I'd call Art Briles.

Any moron that compares paying players to what Art Briles did shouldn't be taken seriously

an allegation is not evidence. they would still have to go through arbitration and negotiate a buyout if they fired them today. They have yet to establish cause. As of now, Houston Nutt has a lawsuit with allegations made and the NCAA has filed a Notice of Allegations

But yes, Ole Miss should have cut bait a long time ago. The NCAA very well may have accepted their self imposed penalties if that included Freeze stepping down as coach.

You mean the coach that went 4-8 with 19 starters back from a 10-3 team the year before and that wasn't recruiting at all?

It's sad the way OM is handling this. They've admitted to 15 level 1 infractions, including altering ACT scores, yet the only guy they fired was a back office high school relations manager. Burn it all down.

Freeze was only good because he paid blue chip athletes to come to Ole Miss. When the cash flow dries up, so will the recruits, and so will your 8 and 9-win seasons.

you mean the coach that lost Eli Manning the year before and now has Duke winning 9 and 10 games a year? yeah that guy. Ole Miss, yes Ole Miss, fired a guy that went 7-1 in the SEC after one bad season.

And btw, Hugh Freeze isn't winning at some crazy clip and if he needed to cheat his arse off to do that, I'm sure Ole Miss could find a coach that could have 7 and 8 win season with regularity without having to do that. State managed to.

I would rather have a coach that cheats and wins a Sugar Bowl than have someone who does it the right way and only wins 7-8 games a year
