Les could go 11-1 and lose to bama and he'd get a raise from LSU

Because losing to Bama plays into overall record and effects the ability to win titles you . It isn't specifically about being Bama. LSU fans will always gravitate to hating the top dog. In my lifetime, we have hated 4 seperate teams the most. We hated UF the most in the 90s, hated Aubie the most in the early 2000s, then hated BAma, and now we hate LSU the most

why are you including 2000-2004? Les Miles did not coach LSU then.

Because the LSU poster I was responding to included stats dating back to the Saban era in 2001.

LSU fans were perfectly happy with Saban. I never heard one LSU fan talk of how they wanted him fired. But now in a so called "Slump" from 2012-2015, LSU's overall winning percentage is better than Saban's while at LSU, and yet LSU fans want him fired. You are essentially holding a man to a standard that he himself set, and one that he himself has been for the most part continuing to meet.... the only difference is that he's no longer beating Bama.

Again, that's not his fault. Bama is beating everyone. And no new coach at LSU is going to begin routinely beating Bama as soon as he comes in.

So now you're using my timeline instead of yours? How about Richt's top 25 finishes then? How many times did Ricjt finish in the top 25 while at UGA?

it's both. Les wouldn't be on the hot seat if his only knock was not beating Alabama

Maybe. However, over the last few years, the tone of the LSU posters changes dramatically in the lead up to the Bama game as opposed to their tone for the rest of the season.

If you want to call LSU frustration a combination of both, I'd say the major contributing factor is 70% the record against Bama.

that's what most employers do. once a standard is set, you do not simply say "well it used to be worse." That's just bad business

I was referring to Richt's tenure which is pre Miles.

And I disagree with this. Just ask Hugh Freeze

Yes, and when I call him, shall I also inquire about how many times he's made it to Atlanta?

Really bad comparison for you. Saban was only at LSU for 5 years and won the title the year before he left. Les has been their for 11 years and hasn't won a title in almost 10 years.

I mean, nah. It's not a maybe. If Les' only issue was bama he'd be fine. I promise. I'm an LSU fan.

He thinks firing Miles is unjustified even though less than a year ago his team fired a coach who finished in the top 25 11 times in 15 years

Just like you swore Richt's problem was Florida... and then facts hit you in the face.

Just admit it. I understand if LSU was beating Bama they'd be winning championships. But you can fire Les Miles, bring in another coach, and you'll still be losing to Bama every year. And therefore, you'd still not be winning championships. Again, your issue is Bama, not Les Miles.

That's cool and all, but what the frick has Miles and LSU done lately? They've been pretty much average, especially by their standards, since 2011. 2012-2015 are extremely forgettable years, and with expectations of a great year, possibly a CFB playoff/National Title year, it looks like it will be another year like in 2012-2015 where we do nothing special, and it will continue to be that way if Les Miles is the coach at LSU. I know I'm playing a broken record here, but Miles needs to go ASAP.

You did not hit me with facts. Richt lost to UF, and in particular Meyer, more than he won by a significant margin. Richt beat UF only 5 times.

He beat Meyer once in 5 years. Clearly had a problem with beating UF.

Throughout Richt's career, he lost to UF. That hindered you from winning the east. These are facts. I'm sorry that you can't accept it but Florida is a better program than UGA and until one of you changes conferences, a HC change won't be solving that problem.

I love how every other team wants LSU to keep Miles. Lsu is 2-4 in its last 6 games and in those losses the offense has been a complete embarrassment. Miles refuses to evolve his offense and has never been able to develop a quarterback. LSU will always have good teams with Miles, but will never win another SEC championship or national championship with Miles at the helm.
