For all of you over the age of 35
When Harrison says it in the locker room to one of his teammates as in you my n**** then no one should have a problem with it. But when you are talking about another player who hasn't been in his locker room and with the connotations that went with it then yeah it is racist.
He shouldn't get a pass just because he is African American. And as far as Kaminsky goes he is just trying to be the bigger man. What do you expect him to say that he thinks Harrison should be expelled from school and never allowed to play in the NBA, then he looks just looks bad also.
If Wisconsin had lost and Kaminsky had said this about Harrison and then apologized do you think Jesse and Al and every other pot stirrer out there would just let this go. Hell No and everyone who is trying to defend Harrison knows this.
I agree with everything in this post. Everything.

Ok, then I don't want to hear all these whiny arse pussies bitching when a white person says it

This. Sure, the comment was ill-advised. That said, all these people comparing it to OU SAE are delusional.
"You can hang em from a tree" is not the same thing as "frick that ****." My black friends refer to me as "****", or " my ****" all the time. They don't mean any offense and I don't take any.
Kid made a mistake. Let's crucify him over it! Yah, okay...

35 is long gone and how could it not be?
Posted on 4/5/15 at 9:02 pm to Carolina Tide
? Yes they do. If they used it as a term of endearment then the black players couldn't care less.
The board doesn't like it when you apply common sense to a situation.
I hope a lot of the posters in this thread who are ready to nail the kid to a cross are just so old that they somehow didn't get the memo that the term doesn't mean the same thing among today's youth that it did when they were growing up.

Hey everybody. It's ok. A black guy said it.
Posted on 4/5/15 at 9:06 pm to JEAUXBLEAUX
Joe, I know how old you are, you're also on the O50 board, remember?
I'm not arguing with you,, it is a derogatory slur, for sure. I just think that there shouldn't be any special rules or conditions, no matter who says it to who,,,, OR, let's just officially proclaim the word acceptable.. It can't go both ways,, period.

Oh hey. Yea. The guy with the Robert E Lee sig. I want to hear his opinion on the word n*****.
Posted on 4/5/15 at 9:19 pm to UnAnon
Hey moron, if you have to use ****s to cover up the word then it probably isn't the preferred nomenclature. It's absolutely a word that obviously refers to African-Americans thus by definition making it racist. If there wasn't a problem with the word in society then no one in this thread would be scared to say it.
PS I'm not over 35. frick you.

Common sense? Term of endearment?
Maybe Jim Nantz can start out tomorrow night how Kaminsky was instrumental in ousting Kentucky 's Negros Saturday night.

None of us, blacks or whites said it to each other, in the locker room or anywhere else. I guess that's called, showing each other respect, do you have a problem with that?
Posted on 4/5/15 at 9:23 pm to Ole Geauxt
In a way, yes. I try to avoid showing others respect in order to assert my dominance.
Bitch.
