Um, there is a difference between 'canned responses' and belting out expletives.
Harrison comes across like a spoiled brat. He went off the court without shaking hands and makes this comment about Kaminsky. If his apology was sincere maybe he'll think twice next time. But if he just said what some UK SID told him to to get people off his back he doesn't get it.

Exactly, Harrison showed us who he really is.

Go inside of Alabamas locker room and I'd put money the white dudes say it to the black dudes and vice versa and no one gives a frick
You are out of your mind. I can see the blacks saying it to the whites, maybe in the context of like "man that n___ ezell (sp) is funny as hell" or something.
But I can't even come up with a scenario where a white person would say it to a black person and not get raised eyebrows or weird looks. It just doesn't work that way. You don't think it'd be uncomfortable with one of the white players saying "yo n___ pass me my helmet"?

Locker room talk stays in the locker room. If you aren't going to the next level in sports, which 99.9% of athletes aren't, you'll be working in corporate America. You let that "slip" you'll be getting a slip....as in a PINKSLIP!

quote:yeah I'm classless because I've been called the n word 95% of the athletes you watch use the word. 9 times out of 10 it's said without racial intent. This is no different had Harrison said "frick that dude". It makes no sense for him to call a white Jewish dude a derogatory word that was meant for blacks.
Wake the frick up! Any use of that stupid fricking word is "not cool" even amongst friends . It is ignorant and shows exactly how completely classless & clueless you and your friends are!

For all of you over the age of 35, "frick that ****" isn't a racial slur
Yes it is, your being a child doesn't change that.

You do realize that your generation is inherently more ignorant simply by being younger, don't you?
quote:
From my expierence of recently being removed from a football locker room and public highschool some of you are just grasping for straws through your own ignorance of the modern generation.
From your "experience"? You're a kid, your experience is limited.
I'm sure you'll grow up some day, though.

quote:the butthurt is massive. Want to be upset he said "frick that" in references to Kaminsky, fine. That was classless and comes off as whiny after a loss, but none of these old timers are upset about that. They have their panties (or diapers) in a wad because a black guy used a word that they can't. A word that has been socially conditioned into

their lifestyle and usually never has racial intent behind it. It's constantly used a term of endearment more often than not
Like I said, had Harrison said, "that n***a is good" about Kaminsky, this would be a non-issue

Is Kaminsky calling Andrew Harrison a dirty jew racist?
What about Kaminsky calling WCS a cracker?

So Einstein, you are telling me that regardless or race, gender, religion or sexual preference, if you let a vile, hateful term "slip" during a conversation in corporate America their wont be severe repercussions?
That may work flipping burgers at the local Wendy's or dumping trash in dump truck but not in the real salaried professional world. And it wouldn't matter one iota if it had a "soft A" or not! The Corporate Gestapo (AKA Human Resources) would have your termination letter by the end of the day!

Sure - unless, of course, he had dirt all over him and is, indeed, a Jew. Sometimes even Jews get dirty.
What's the big fricking deal? Racist slurs are all around us, just as are racists.
No need to get panties and/or diapers all bunched up.

For those of you UNDER the age of 35 there is a certain way you are to conduct yourself as a human being. Whether its a racial slur, negative conatation, slang, whatever you want to call it, there should be certain lines you don't cross. Talking with your buddies or something is one thing but the public arena is completely different. You should never approach something that could even be considered to be taken the wrong way. If it's questionable, you don't do it. Especially at a press conference during the NCAA Final Four. No, there is no excuse for using this word or many others. It's wrong no matter what age you are.
