Yep, I've heard the word 100x more in the past 20 years than I did in the previous 20.

Go inside of Alabamas locker room and I'd put money the white dudes say it to the black dudes and vice versa and no one gives a frick. In public they'll deny it but that's just not the reality of it.

This is all locker rooms. The only people that WANT it to be a problem are those that make $$ off of it.

Since it's not a racial slur, why not make a post saying hi to all your n****'s on the rant. Just the young ones that are hip to the nomenclature tho. Put it in the thread title so us old geezers won't get confused and click on it.

This guy almost got his arse kicked for saying "what up my neighbor" in the hood.

(I don't have a point - but it's funny)

apples and oranges

I've been called a ****a by many black friends before. "Wassup my ****a" has been said to me tons of times and not once did the thought of my black friends who said this being racist cross my mind. You guys are so ignorant to the context of the phrase it's unbelievable

Key word in your post is "friends."

You're beyond ignorant yourself if you think it means the exact same thing at all times between strangers.

So when a black dude calls his white friend his n***a it's cool, but when he says it to a white stranger it's racist?

The only reason people are outraged about this is because it was an insult. The "frick that" changes the whole context of the phrase. Had harrison said, "that n***a is good" under his breath when he was asked about Kaminsky, this would be a non issue. Hell, most people would've probably thought it was funny

I tell you what,,, u mentioned your hs football locker room like it was the key to all your knowledge and experience, correct? Well, I left my college football locker room in the early 70's,,, so I have 2 questions for you. Who do you think has more experience with the world,,, and do you still want to keep crowing about your 20 year knowledge and playing this game, your call.

Andrew should have had the wherewithal not to say it. No excuse for it. He apologized and Kaminsky was gracious enough to say he'd moved past it already. Not really much in the way of discipline that can be done since he'll be declaring for the draft. I know this will cause the UK haters to light their torches and grab their pitchforks, but it is what it is. Let the record show I'm in favor of some form of discipline, as even though I understand it was said in the heat of the moment, it doesn't excuse it.

End the word with an "A" equals not racist, end it with a "er" and it is racist. Using it on TV makes it worse. Also young folks love the F word. Society is going in the wrong direction on this.

wait, let me get this correct...You can't even post the word on this site without using ******, and it's not a racial slur?

Why is everyone so sensitive?

The player he directed this towards isn't offended. And, so what if he is.

We interview players and coaches to get an authentic reaction to the game and themselves. When they give it to us, we can't handle it. Do we really want robotic interviews.

If anything, the kid's reaction was just bad taste. But, he was showing us who he is.

Wake the frick up! Any use of that stupid fricking word is "not cool" even amongst friends . It is ignorant and shows exactly how completely classless & clueless you and your friends are!

This whole situation boils down to something that's sadly very common: The soft bigotry of low expectations.

Exactly, that's why they should talk like that. So, the rest of us can clearly see who they are. It's great information for us to separate the wise from the fools.
