Probably should learn to use it in context. Same way you wouldn't call your girl bitch if it had a negative undertone.

Yup, I used this same example earlier.

That may be fine for you; it's not for me.
I'm not going "ape" over anything.
I wouldn't choose to express myself in the manner he did, that's all.
To each his own.

Hate to break it to ya...but that is the culture in the locker room.

Problem, Harrison brought that culture outside of the locker room. Trust me, what is said in the locker room would make everyone blush...it is nowhere close to being PC...and white and black athletes go back and forth with the verbiage all the time.

Graduated in 13. But thanks for being a smart arse in an attempt to make it appear I'm not just as credible as your side of this.

You not. You're young and you're dumb. Quit starting threads.

As someone who uses the word in different company, I agree with this. Even if you have no problem with the word, you have to have a sense of professionalism and never forget that in that situation you're an ambassador for your institution and refrain from such cavalier language.

Exactly. Harrison thought nobody would hear what he mumbled. And it was a poor choice of words, especially for the situation. But I'm not going to condemn him for making an error in judgement, especially when I believe he didn't mean any harm. Whether he receives any consequences beyond personal embarrassment is in the hands of the coach and/or school.

So,Mike,if a Kentucky player uses a slur it's A-okay? John Calipari has hinted at such.

Here is some advice since you were so nice to educate me on the do's and don'ts modern immature language in a public forum:

Sheath that dagger before you bag her or wrap your rasckle before you buff the muff!

Funny watching y'all get all worked up. UK and LSU players use these slurs everyday.

And, Bo Ryan and Frank Kaminsky agrees with Cal...this is a non issue.

Oh, they wish it wasn't an issue but it is...

He doesn't deserve a free pass and Calapari can't give it to him. Welcome to a media shite storm and public relations nightmare. Hey, a kid can just say "frick" in a presser and "nigg-a"? The university needs to suspend him regardless of pro status. I'm not saying expelled either, but at least suspended.

I was speaking in regard to myself.
Obviously, I can't process how others interpret words and scenarios.
All I was saying is that 42 years of life have shown me that going against my gut feeling(s) always (not a word I use regularly) ends up being a mistake.
Again, using that word doesn't work for me; maybe it does for others?
That's up to individuals.
