well then who is 'they'?
because if he was talking about someone else, it sure didn't sound like it
to say anyone should be worried about bama basketball is absurd. Plenty of schools put a ton of money into their basketball programs and will never see the type of success bama football has.

The sad part is you didn't state it to pull anyones strings. You proably own t-shirts with it printed on it.

Again, you have admitted you haven't read the thread (and I don't blame you) but maybe you could at least read the singular post you are commenting on (would help serve your purpose of improving discourse in this forum if people would at least do that). Seemed pretty clear the poster was talking about the Auburn fans acting a fool in this thread. The first sentence in the post says as much.

did you not see where I quoted that post? I read it.

Yes, he was. But I wasn't commenting on that part of the post.
Not to mention why would Auburn be worried about Bama basketball? Same concept. Auburn currently has a great coach who over achieved with pretty bad talent. Bama is coachless and about to revamp things. That takes time and is certainly nothing to worry about in the immediate future.

No matter how stupid your comment, you can always make it even more inane by adding your own laughing emoticon.

Which was my point dummy....Bama's football sucess goes back to the leather helmut days....Bama basketball, while decent, isn't going to achiecve that overnight.
Our AD generates more cash than anyone besides Texas. Bama has signaled its intent to try and take its basketball program to another level by throwing out some serious money for the right guy. Yet Bama haters like you immediately troll the thread saying we have no shot and it will never happen when in reality everything is in place for success. Or rather when it looks like that their might be some interest on Marshall's side, the narrative switches to Marshall is over rated and we are over paying.

Well I wasn't trolling, first of all. And I also never said "it will never happen". So maybe take a step back for a second. Not all of us want to troll the board like you.
Anyways, my reply to your comment was about the part in which you said "they should be worried". That's an idiotic statement. Throwing money at a problem is a start, but certainly not and end all be all. Plenty of schools have been wildly successful with coaches who aren't making Coach K money. And plenty of schools have thrown money at a top notch coach and have fell on their face.
Alabama very well could hire the right guy, pay him a bunch of money and win a championship or 100. Sure. That's a possibility. But it's still nothing to worry about.
No one is or should be worried about Alabama basketball based off of some shite your AD says.

I also never said anything even close to this. Again, just pointing out that there is nothing to be worried about in terms of Alabama bball. They are eons behind a half dozen other schools in the conference.

Well if you did in fact read it, then I guess it's more of a reading comprehension/interpretation problem. That's cool, it happens. Taking part of a post out of context isn't really fair though. Fact remains the poster pretty clearly wasn't saying that Kentucky needs to be worried about Alabama basketball.

For better or worse, Auburn and Alabama sharing the same state means each program is always going to have an eye on and a vested interest in the other. That's just the way it is and always has been. Auburn fans on here have specifically stated that they wanted Alabama to retain Grant because they felt like Pearl would eventually own him. By the same token, many would rather not see Alabama make a good hire now. Pretty easy to understand. Alabama fans probably didn't want AU to get Pearl. LSU fans probably didn't want Alabama to get Saban. Michigan fans probably didn't want OSU to hire Meyer. OSU fans probably didn't want Michigan to get Harbaugh, etc, etc.

What signs have there been that Marshall might come to bama? I haven't seen a single sign. As much as you and other bammers have continuously bragged about how much money your school has all throughout this thread, I do find it hysterical that your plan A is a coach at Wichita State

where the basketball program is currently, yes.

Alright, I misread his post. But AU shouldn't be worried either as they are in a better situation than Alabama.

Come on now, Phannie. You can't play both sides - pick a narrative. Either Marshall is too big a name to come to Bama, or we're ridiculous for chasing such a mediocre coach. You can't have it both ways.

Bama basketball while it has a respectable history and good fan support is not going to attract a top shelf coach if we don't pay up. So that is the first thing....We have to pay to get a guy like Marshall. Secondly, are facilities which are top notch outside of Coleman. If we start to have success like we would expect, then a new arena will follow in due course. Lastly, is providing that coach with the resources and control that Kentucky does with Calipari and make recruiting top priority. Bama has agreed to that as well.
There are no guarantees but if handled correctly, we should take a giant leap forward.

Hyperbole. Everyone is "eons" behind Kentucky in this conference right now. Florida probably owns a tier by themselves after that lately. Some other teams like Arkansas and LSU seem to be on an upswing but they aren't "eons" ahead of the pack where Alabama is at all.
