Alabama officials are prepared to present an offer in excess of $3 million per year in an attempt to lure Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall to Tuscaloosa just as soon as the Shockers' season concludes, multiple sources have told CBSSports.com.

I realize money talks bigtime, but I don't see any other reason why GM would leave the situation he's in for tuscaloosa.

I look for him to hold out for Indiana. I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere before that.

Tuscaloosa, Al > Witchita, Ks?
Seriously, I have no idea. Anyone ever been to Witchita, Ks? It can't be any worse than Tuscaloosa can it?

Wichita St has the money to match $3 million if needed. They have the backing to make it happen.

Bama's 24/7 site basically said: 1. Money 2. Saban 3. SEC Network
Parrish sort of laughed off the idea of Bama getting him on his podcast last week, so if he is reporting this today there has to be something to it

He makes 1.75 now and will get another raise. He also has a better shot at winning a championship at WSU than Alabama

I have, and it's far far worse. It's a dump.
With that said, they're a pretty darn bball school under GM and he's the king of campus. GM at this point should make the tourney more years than not there, if not every year.
At bama he will be such 2nd fiddle it's not even funny, and he'll have to play a tougher league schedule. It's like Shaka Smart...yeah obviously he COULD go to a "better" place than VCU, but he's got a great thing going there and he may just be content to hang aroudn for a while.

It's a nice campus actually reminds me of Auburn.

When I posted this last week, almost everyone and their brother ridiculed me for even thinking that such a thing could happen.

A good many schools could probably match the 3 million or come close to it with the success of the Big Ten & SEC networks. I still don't see him coming

I'd be surprised if Gregg Marshall ever left Wichita State unless it was for a major basketball-first school. So, not Alabama.

He's not leaving... move on.

The campus in Wichita is kinda in the ghetto. But the city is awesome. It has a small town feel in a large city. I was stationed here when I was in the military and I had a great 4 years in Wichita. The campus kinda sucks and the are that it sits sucks but everything else about the area is cool. I would much rather live in Kansas than Alabama.
