If only that were true, but alas ....

Like all trolls, you are the type of person who will curse people and otherwise behave on a message board in a manner that you would never CONSIDER behaving in a face-to-face context.

And it never occurs to you to consider what that fact says about you and your character.

Again, it is not your fault. It is who you are.

There are entire books on the subject, but I am confident that you have never read any of them.

I recommend "You are not a Gadget" by Jaron Lanier -- an early internet pioneer, if you will. Be careful. It contains multi-syllabic (big) words.

Ok, maybe not. But going at it like this, why would anyone try? SS expressed to me why (s)he thought our traditions were silly, and I explained what they mean to us, and that's that.

I think people can respect that even if they do think it's weird. What people don't respect is being patronized.

You know, you're right man

Bear with me now, but imagine a place with no trolling. I wonder if you can. No flames or "didn't read lol"s, and certainly no 1/10s.

Imagine all the people, sharing in aggy pride, whooooop! Ah....

Our opinion isn't that different. I'm not worked up - it was 18 years ago, after all. Still embarassing, though. I'd just like to think Corps members are a bit above that sort of crap, and that dumbass destroyed my illusion. I've always thought that way despite cokebottleag's father's Halloween costume. That was a life-changing experience. Ask him about it.

To cyde and others whining your whiny asses off about the "fake army", though: you commies can kiss my arse. There are at least 2 active duty Corps guys here who are regular and frequent posters and I suspect a few others who would rather keep that stuff private. And there are many times more who went into the military immediately upon graduation but are now civilians. Me, for example. There's nothing fake about that shite, ya pansy arse. Shut your commie whore mouth. Just a suggestion.

Honest questions for my SEC bretheren:

If a foreigner visited the Ole Miss, Bama, Auburn, Florida and Georgia campuses for one hour on the same day, how would he describe the difference between the five institutions? What sets these schools apart from one another other than geography and team colors?

Nice Lennon reference.

Look, you are not interested in a serious discussion on this subject, and that is fine. But "trolling" is just one indicator of the degree to which our society has become more coarse ... less civil.

Imagine your grandmother engaging in "trolling," if the internet had existed thirty years ago. I would wager that you cannot even envision the concept. Yet today it is common. That says something about what has happened to us as a society.

For one, foreigners aren't allowed in oxford.

Also, different isn't always better. If it were better or cooler, then people would start doing it.

Surprisingly, this whole Aggy thing hasn't caught on yet and for the life of me I can't figure out why.

If you're looking for me to defend him, that won't work. I was several years too young for Vietnam and that dumbass was 6 years younger than me. The really infuriating thing was a similar incident happened (again with SMU, strangely) when I was in school, but no sword was drawn or punches thrown. Just (mostly) friendly words spoken and the SMU cheerleaders left the field without incident. In contrast, the douchebag Officer of the Day provided a youtube video for the ages. Arrrrgggh.

In all fairness hank hill said he wanted to ban half of the ag's on the rant yesterday bc our actions on the rant aren't representative of what Texas A&M stands for. Which to him, A&M apparently stands for whiny rants where he basically grinds himself and trolls the rest of our fanbase?

SS, you are correct. Different is just "different." The atmosphere at your university was the right atmosphere for you. The atmosphere at TAMU was the right one for me. (Cue a lame homosexuality reference from one imbecile or another).

But keep in mind that TAMU has doubled in enrollment since I attended in the 1980s. At least in Texas, the "whole Aggy thing" has indeed "caught on."

That's because cowbells aren't all that cool.

Tampa rays do it though.

Yeah he made a similar rant on our board. We tried to warn him but homeboy didn't want to listen

No, Dat, I did not say that. Exaggerating does not strengthen your point.

I said that there are about a dozen TAMU posters that I would not mind seeing banned. They are posters who routinely behave rather poorly. A short "time out" might do them some good.

If I were to list them, I am confident that most of the Rant would agree. But I won't do that where fans of other programs will see it.

I doubt that any of them has yet reached the age of twenty. They will probably be fine, once they grow up a bit.

Texas A&M claims second place, behind only the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, in the number of its sons and daughters lost in the War on Terror.
