And my point is even if you're right and Gus agrees with you, we don't have a dual threat option next year.

Which blows my mind and I can't really grasp why there's not.

Does JFIII get a legit shot at qb this spring?

JAY G SAYS: I think so. It's worth noting that Franklin is a fantastic athlete and can help this team in a variety of ways, but I don't think this is a Jason Smith situation. I think he'll be here to compete.

J. LEE TYPES: Absolutely. That's what he is being recruited to play. I don't expect Auburn to publicly confirm it, but JF3 is being brought in to compete at QB.

Just going to leave this here. It's from a Q and A on the bunker.

We could argue the point all day long. My main point will always be this, Gus needs a strong dual threat qb that has good speed to really run his offense effectively. I just don't think Sean white can do that. Why he hasn't recruited one really makes no sense to me. I'm not trying to argue that Sean is a bad qb, I just believe he doesn't fit the system. It's jmo, and I know others don't see it that way and I respect their opinion.

Ehh this just isn't true. SW runs the offense just fine, but we just don't have the WR talent and the OL is average this year. We have moved the ball well with White..just haven't capitalized in the red zone. Gus has had plenty of offenses put up great numbers without a duel threat QB. I don't think he trust our WR core, and who can blame him. Some of the calls in the red zone have been questionable as well. We have been in every game we've played with SW under center..even on one leg last week. All this Duel Threat QB shite is overblown.

Most AU fans realize this, the others are delusional. I know nothing about JF3 besides what has been stated on this board. I know this, Gus has really dug himself a hole with the qb situation and if he doesn't work some magic it will eventually him his job. I'm hoping it doesn't and he makes the right moves to get AU back on track next year, because I see our defense improving.

Given that Sean White has played 4 games and already has an injury that affects his llay, I have no problem bringing in another QB

I hope we can build an offense around Sean White as that will pay dividends in future years even if we get a future dual threat guy.

Marshall was a lot more than a guy who can run. A lot of people don't see that though.

We need that balanced offense bra... Moar passing yards.

disagree
I think play calling has put the OL in disadvantageous positions.
Cole Cublic believes AU's OL has done pretty well this year and I agree. LINK

I agree with the article. It's not hard to defend two runs up the gut and then a bomb to a triple covered man. This offense is so simple the 49ers would laugh at it and I never thought that would be the case with Gus.

I'll just say this. If Franklin starts at QB for Auburn, we're screwed.

If Sean White starts, we can win.

So if White keeps doing what he's doing for the rest of the year and Gus starts Franklin, I'll be on the fire Gus train.

Who knows.

We can not win with Franklin. We can win with White.

Depends on the S&C program they are on, but pretty difficult not improve ones core with the kind of program Auburn has.

Weird question by the way.

Not really, our receivers will have to improve exponentially if we plan on having a pocket passer.

Eta: when I say that I don't only mean catching the ball, running better routes, getting open and of course catching the damn ball
