Nick Marshall was 6'1 195 at UGA when playing CB.

Franklin has 10 months to put on weight. Hard to imagine Franklin can't add 15-20 pounds in that time to get to 6'2 205LB

My concern is that if it doesn't work out with him at QB he turns into another Duke.

Franklin had moved to WR at FSU. If we give him a fair shake at QB and he doesn't make it, he'll know that the move to WR is inevitable

We will have a dual threat qb playing next year. White better work on his read option, if not he needs to go ahead and look to transfer. Gus tried something different this year, didn't work, time to go back to bread and butter. I understand he tried something different because of the talent JJ was supposed to be. Sucks it didn't pan out.

Interesting that you think Sean White is a dual threat guy.

And yes. It is stupid. It's been explained countless times on this board so I'm not doing it again.

This is jmo, I don't think he'll be starting next year.

John Franklin is not 6'2. He was listed at 6'0 out of HS by 247 and it is quite obvious just by looking at him at that he is no taller than ~5'11-6'0. He's also got that McCalebb-esque build that makes it very hard for me to believe that he'll just "put on 10-15 pounds" in 10 months. He looks like a kid that will forever remain "small".

He looked like a little kid in all of the photos with FSU's other quarterbacks. Winston looked like a giant standing near him and its not like he's freakishly tall himself (6'3 and 6/8ths).

Obviously I picked that up.

Sean White will be the starter.

Even if we wanted to go Dual Threat, what are our options?

Franklin? Lol no.
Smith? Maybe. I really doubt it though.
Johnson? Lol
Barrett? A true freshman? Lol at Gus if he does that.

And our coaches just told what would probably be our top JUCO target that we aren't taking a JUCO QB. So I'm interested in knowing who you think will start.

This is what scares me about next year.

I have no idea. Next year isn't sitting well with me at all.

so you don't think any of those are good options yet you think White isn't going to start?

Do you not see the problem here?

Well the FSU transfer would be a good choice if he can run the read option with consistency and vision that Marshall displayed. Marshall wasn't an accurate passer at all, but his ability to make good decisions and run made up for that.

So the guy who can't start for his JUCO over Sean White?

We converted a DB into a qb because of his speed, so it's not out of the realm of possibility. Plus he started over JJ when everyone thought JJ was would eventually be a heisman contender.

Difference is Marshall started for his JUCO and put up big numbers. If he's not effective enough at that level, how exactly is he going to be effective enough at our level.

The JJ thing proves my point more. You'd rather have a proven guy over an inexperienced guy.

Marshall was a lot more than a guy who can run. A lot of people don't see that though.

Not saying he starts next year, not saying he won't. Tyler Queen is going to be great before he is done. He can run better than SW, he is taller, and thicker. I like QB's whose Dad's are coaches.

Bookmark this so we can all bask in my awesomeness, once this comes to pass.

We could argue the point all day long. My main point will always be this, Gus needs a strong dual threat qb that has good speed to really run his offense effectively. I just don't think Sean white can do that. Why he hasn't recruited one really makes no sense to me. I'm not trying to argue that Sean is a bad qb, I just believe he doesn't fit the system. It's jmo, and I know others don't see it that way and I respect their opinion.

I've always thought this, his decision making and poise under pressure was amazing qualities.

And my point is even if you're right and Gus agrees with you, we don't have a dual threat option next year.
