That's excitement. And he said opportunity. He didn't talk like it was a given.

You could argue that our staff has recruited 3 guys that played QB to play WR.

They are Quan Bray, Jason Smith, and Truitt. And only Bray can we truly say didn't pan out.
Well to Quan Bray's credit he's on an NFL roster right now so was it really his fault he didn't pan out or was it on our coaching staff?

Of course he's confident. They all are coming in. Jason Smith was pretty sure he could be a QB.

I'm betting he'll be at WR before we get to fall camp.

Maybe so, but it doesn't look like the coaches are acting like he'll be switching right away.

Again, they have to pitch him this if they want him. I would put little weight into what they're selling him. You think they're going to get a guy who wants to be QB by just telling him he'll get a week or two to prove himself?

It could be true, but I doubt it. Quotes from recruits are surprisingly meaningless in recruiting.

He may get a shot to win the job but he will move if he doesn't. Same thing happened with Jason Smith. It was evident to him where he fit in pretty quickly

Why are people so naive? If you don't think he will have a chance to win the qb spot you might wanna buy this ocean front property I have.

Sure he'll get a chance. He won't last two weeks.

He doesn't even start for his JUCO...

Maybe not, but I welcome him to try. Nick Marshall had speed, but his decision making when it came to the read option was amazing. I know speed isn't the only factor to be great in Malzahn's offense, it takes vision and quick decision making. I think Gus got a little dose of reality so far this year when he tried to implement a pocket passer into his offense. I'm not saying white won't be our qb next year, but I do believe it will be an open competition after this season.

No ones going to beat out White. Especially not Franklin.

I don't know why yall think Gus has some vendetta against White.

Guy is way to small to play QB, 6-2 185 is 25 pounds lighter than Marshall I think. I say that, but after Cam and NM rolled through. I say we give every JC player a shot at QB and see if it works. My concern is that if it doesn't work out with him at QB he turns into another Duke.
