I have no idea how we'll fare against Cal, because I'm still not sure we've learned much about our offense. I feel like the O bailed itself out with a few "cheese" plays that are unlikely to yield the same results against a P5 team like Cal, but I hope to be proven wrong...

this is the time that i point out that AU has won only 1 regular season road game against OOC P5 opponents in the last 25 years

I agree. Should Auburn win it won’t be by much.

I remember losing to GA Tech in the early 00's. Was that at home or in Atlanta?

I expect that the score will be closer than it was on Saturday vs UMass. The offensive line and the secondary looked very good on Saturday. There is room for improvement in the defensive line and I hope that we will see more cohesive play as the season progresses.

The front 3 should be Harris, Rogers, and Kite getting 45-50 snaps.
33 better not get 45-50 snaps or Cal will push our shite in.

Cherry picked the 25 years to leave out the big win over Virginia in 1997.

Lost at Syracuse in 2001 right after 9/11. However we won at K State in 2014 so yea the O.P. is wrong.

Kite? He was probably our best defensive lineman. Yes it looked bad on TV but dude was blowing his guy up. The linebackers weren’t filling the gap there and he had one missed tackle. Learn football!!!

Surely the Pornhub Gang will play this week, besides they could easily schedule a casting with some of the industry giants in Chatsworth, Ca

To be fair, they haven't played many of them.

2001: Syracuse. AU lost 31-14
2002: USC. AU lost 24-17
2003: Georgia Tech. AU lost 17-3
2008: West Virginia. AU lost 34-17.
2011: Clemson. AU lost 38-24
2014: Kansas St. AU won 20-14
2017: Clemson. AU lost 14-6
2021: Penn St. AU lost 28-20

1-7

Yes, not good. But AU played USC who was dominating the country at that time. The two Clemson loses were to Dabo coached teams (Clemson had at least 10 wins both seasons). 2021 Penn St. was a good team and we had Potato coaching.

WVU is understandable as the team was in chaos that season with Franklin, Tubs duck hunting, and all that mess.

2001 Syracuse was a game AU has no business losing, but it was 11 days after 911. I don't think anyone's mind was on football.

EDIT: I left out GA Tech in 2003 but edited my post. I must have misread the schedule and saw "Georgia" and skipped over it. Yeah, AU has no business losing to GA Tech in the modern era.

Going to turn into a boat race. Lots of points scored by both teams. Maybe it is coach speak but Freeze didn't sound confident about our defense and over all outlook in today's press conference.
