Lashlee aint leaving and if he did it wouldn't matter much. Gus is the guru of our offense. The problem is that Gus is stubborn. He is stubborn when it comes to who plays as well as the play calling. I am convinced he has it in his head that we can run it 3 times and get a first down just like 2010 and 2013. Remember 2011 and 2012 when we all thought Chiz was handcuffing Gus and making him conservative, well I think that was just who Gus is as a play caller. The reason we were 2-15 on 3rd down last week had to do with Gus not throwing more on 1st down. Ole Miss played to our tendencies and Gus didn't break the pattern of running 95 percent on 1st down.

I don't think Lashlee is part of the problem but he definitely isn't part of the solution. Lashlee isn't going to win any recruiting battles and he sure isn't going to coach you up.
I have no problem with this and I hope Gus is smart enough to realize he needs help and hires a real OC instead of promoting someone. Or hiring a high school coach

this is dumb. Reeks of desperation. It is Gus's system and Gus's players. Rhett is gonna be sacrificed for this shite.

this is how I feel about it.
and when things are this bad, when you arent part of the solution, you may as well be part of the problem

Nailed it. I don't know if it's true or not, but if so it goes a long way in showing that Gus isn't as stubborn as some think he is. It is most definitely Malzahn's offense, but Lashlee brings nothing to the table. Plus he's never gonna get a good job unless he steps out from under Malzahn's wing and shows he can run an offense on his own.

If anyone thinks Lashlee is safe because he has been butt buddies with Gus, you are delusional. Lashlee has made ~$1.5mil in the past three years and will have a buyout if he can't find a job.
That said, I refuse to believe Lashlee's fate is predetermined.

Completely agree. Rhett will be scapegoated to save Gus if necessary.
Just because Lashlee isn't deserving of blame doesn't make adding new perspective/energy to the system a positive move

Could this be equivalent to Franklin being scapegoated for Tuberville?

I love how we used to think Gus was a daring and bold playcaller because on 4 and 1 vs Bama we threw to Darvim Adams instead of run.
Boy were we wrong

I'm all for it. Just don't feel like lashlee adds much to the offense that Gus doesn't already know. After watching us this year I'm not sure he adds at all lol. A new perspective and a new face would do us good I believe. Also really did like hearing Gus take the blame for play calling last week it tells me that going forward maybe he sees the need to stop being cute on offense and make the adjustments necessary.

Interesting stat from Ole Miss game.
51.1 percent of Auburn's first-down snaps have netted 3-yards or less and 38.8% have netted 5-yards or more.

If Lashlee is leaving it is because Gus realizes he has to change his offensive ways... get a true OC and become a head coach... hard to do two jobs.

We had the best 3rd down conversion in the SEC going into the Ole Miss game. So our HC/OC was doing something right with their plays. I think with White hobbled, and Ole Miss having a very good D, it was just one of those days. White was off, as most of us could tell, probably due to his injury.
I think it would be good for Lashlee to be an OC without CGM now. But i dont see anyone else coming in to change our HC who brought a winning and statistically speaking, a very productive type of offense.
And remember whe CPD was being stubborn running the wishbone, and he needed to change as we were not winning as much, so he brought in Pat Sullivan and our offense revived.

This is the same "insider" who posted twice that Lawson was going to play against LSU. Once only 2 days before the game. I seriously doubt that personnel decisions have already been made.
when you're 4-4, yes, personnel decisions are made by now in some cases.
You think that someone who said that Lawson would play two days before LSU is an insider?

Lashlee leaving changes absolutely nothing.
Gus will never give up control of his offense.
Lashlee is not the problem.
For his sake, I wish he'd go so that he could show what he can do with control of an offense.
ETA: strictly my opinions.

Gawd I hate whiner AU fans. Shug would have bitch slapped you all...then make you take a slug of that whiskey with an earthworm in it.
If that doesn't make sense to you, then that proves my point
