I think White is clearly better, but he isn't going to win you games right now. Just like Clint, he isn't going to lose games for you and he isn't going to win them

If they're going to pussy foot around with SW and not let him do much, give it to JJ and let er rip. I'd probably rather see us sling it all over the place and have 4 TOs a game than sit through a season of excruciatingly painful offensive ineptitude.

Why don't you open it up with White though? It doesn't make sense to me. I think Gus is stuck on trying to make his offense from the past 2 years work instead of adjusting his play calling to fit SW.

I'm with you, I'll take either. But if the choice is Gus being a bitch with SW or Gus letting JJ throw backwards passes and hail mary balls, I'm probably going with JJ simply for variety.

They'll have JJ packages.

Like the "JJ comes in after SW leads a 70 yard drive into the red zone" package

JJ will come in on wildcat and do nothing.

Exactly my point. If we are giong to lose, I would rather look like Brett Farve than Matt Schaub.

Whatever the rationale behind it, they are playing Sean White like Clint Moseley. I think White is more talented but you can't argue that the playcalls, looks and feeling is the same as when we had Crybaby Clint.

I think White is like Barrett Trotter in the Chicken Bowl vs UVA (not the rest of the season). Accurate, makes the necessary throws and can run the read option for positive yardage. As Jones pointed out, we just aren't playing him that way

What happened to all the between the lines stuff that I was too blind to read?!

I told yall this "QB competition" thing is what they've been saying since the LSU loss.

No one is arguing that Sean is handcuffed by Gus for whatever reason, but no one wants to have a handcuffed QB.

Sean also has 38 attempts this season and none of them have been a revelation or show "elite talent"

Sean White looked like when Clint Mosely took over in 2011.

Nah, he's no Clint "Pick 6" Moseley

He had gone through progressions and made good decisions on many of those opportunities. While under normal circumstances that wouldn't qualify as a revelation, following the first 3 weeks it definitely was.

I feel like this was the safest move. I still think JJ holds the potential to be more dynamic though.

Better than not making them though.
