. Bodega is now Pieology, and that place is like a metrosexual Subway for pizza.

They took a cool looking bar in the Vault and made it some generic boring looking mini pizza place. It isn't even the best mini pizza place in a few block radius

Maddios >>>>>>>> Pieology too

They should have came up with this before giving 50% of the downtown property to religious groups. We have like 5-10 churches downtown taking up land.

This isn't a knock against churches, just that churches don't make profits a priority like businesses + don't pay taxes. As a result, they have very little incentive to sell their land causing a huge supply shortage of downtown real estate driving up prices and reducing expansion options

I had all but Mafiosos...for me though still has nothing on the simplicity/deliciousness of Little Italy NY style sliced pepperoni pizza. Tortugas is very good Chicago style for sure, best I've had but I've never been to Chi Town.

Most those options are also a bit pricey. Little Italy so good for the price.

Good but not great. They do have some pretty good weekly specials for beer and stuff. The fried ravioli appetizer is pretty fantastic.

Fantastic pizza, but damn that wait. I'd still eat Italy over it.

Overpriced crap iyam.

Tortugas is very good. I believe they just announced plans to open a new one over by Regions Park

I'll add in Davenport's, it has a soft spot from my childhood. I won't say it is the best pizza, but for greasy, delicious, hand tossed thin crust pizza, it is damn tasty.

Also, if you haven't been to Dave's in Homewood M-F, they have a lunch buffet. It is like $8 including drink for all you can eat. Pretty good deal. Their buffalo chicken and their BBQ chicken pizza are pretty good.

Yep. Lunch deal of slice w/ 1 topping and pitcher of beer for $5 was insane.

Ate at Price's last time I was in AU, for the SJSU game last fall. BBQ was fair, Brunswick stew was top notch.

It was a grungy little Chinese food joint when I was a student back in '80-'84. I spent New Year's Eve 1984 there, not because the food was any good, but because it was literally the only place in downtown Auburn that was open, and the lesbian neighbor next door had just broken up with her girlfriend and had spent the entire evening blasting Air Supply's "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" over and over and over again, and my party guests were getting depressed themselves...

Good times.

My wife grew up on Davenport's and loves that shite. I can't stand it.

Ate there one time and there were a thousand flies buzzing around so you could barely eat from the constant hazing. Never went back.
