If it ain't a part of his philosophy Gus ain't gonna listen. Getting an experienced guy in that case would be pointless. Plus CDC could conceivably see being passed over as OC as a slap in the face given the work he already put in & being the Co OC now in title & very well bail. Who knows, maybe Gus would get back to calling nearly all the plays if CDC is OC. That would not be a bad thing IMO.

I agree. I've been listening to my dad and others say we need a good/real OC since the season started. As long as Gus is our coach, that isn't gonna happen. Now, I can see the point of view that the HC has a lot on his plate and essentially being the defacto OC as well can either take away from other areas or take away from just focusing on the O, but that is what we have with Gus. And it may work fine that way, we will have to wait and see. Either way, there is no point in wanting some proven OC with his own philosophy as we have that with Gus and that is that.

As for CDC as OC if Lashlee goes, I think that is the obvious answer. CDC has earned it.

How has CDC earned it? By the play and development of his wide receivers?

Wait, you think we've had 5 separate starters and 5 separate backups over the past 3 years?

No. But it helped my case to assume we did.

He has had health concerns.

His son working at Cincy, right?

I cannot believe we asked him to leave.

As you get older, and you start thinking about your health/mortality --- time with family becomes much more important.

I'll miss Grimes and really hope AU didn't ask him to look. Seems it might have more to do with his son at Cinci and health.

I'd be very happy with Hand. I've been following him since he worked at Vandy and he's a good coach and solid recruiter. His players seem to love him.

I really hope Lashlee leaves. Not putting our offensive woes directly on him, but would like to see what the team can do offensively without him. Could possibly give clarity to what happened this season.

The PSU Oline has been garbage two years in a row, but they had a severe deficiency on talent. The best guy on the OL from last year went to the NFL early and several guys had to be converted from defense just to have enough bodies.

Can't blame Hand for that. Also, Hack looked ruined after last year in any pressure situations this year.

Grimes is interviewing with Tuberville today. I think we'll know something soon.

I don't think it is a surprise that Grimes is being interviewed by TUberville.

With as close as tuberville has been to the program the last couple years, I don't think so either.

Phillip just posted that his source told him he was 100% sure he was not asked to leave. Grimes just would like to be with his son, who is a GA for Tubbs. Decision will come in the next 24 hrs. ( I feel like PM probably talked to Grimes himself, since he said 100% about his source).

Grimes just had surgery to remove cancer and is getting old. He may never have the chance to coach with his son again.

If that is why he is leaving, he is making the right move

Nothing about Rhett. PM did say Hand was Gus's pick, but he tried to hire him when he was at Vandy with Franklin and decided to stay put.
