What do you mean by "block seating?"

Never sat in the student section proper so I've never had to deal with the seating arrangements. I know the Greeks have something funky going on but that's about the extent of my knowledge

It is now organizational seating. Essentially, it is reserved seating that requires wristbands to get into the section. You get these reserved rows now by going to ignited events and getting points. There are multipliers to make even playing fields for organizations size. Any organization can sign up to qualify for rows but other than honors Congress the only group that has the ability and manpower to coordinate activities are Greek life. So essentially it is a way for gGreek life to get reserved seating even if they onlyshow up an hour before the game while others show up t3+hours before kickoff to get similar seats. They are pretty prime seats as it is the lower section

Student affairs said if the block isn't filled the block won't exist in the future.

You are welcome smaller organizations. I worked my arse off to get that multiplier set up.

That is how it was set up when I was there in the late 90s. We had to go to womens soccer games and volleyball games but then got better seats in the fall. The wristbands are a new thing though.

That makes sense to an extent but I feel like it could be handled a whole lot better

I like the use it or lose it system. I was in a fraternity and had great seats my entire college span, and I completely agree that if they're going to get those great seats, they better damn well fill them up for every game.

I had to miss the Ole Miss game for a big tournament. I will drive down for this game unless it rains

Looking forward to a game in the stands where my arse is not griping the bleachers.

I always thought the seats up higher in the student section were better for a view. I used to side behind the band.

Anyone read the Will Collier articles on rivals? He is so incredibly bias and trash talks other programs so much it is pretty comical. He definitely is one of the most homer writers out there when it comes to how Auburn should be viewed in terms of program quality

ETA: He also refers to Ole Miss as "The Team of Many Mascots" which is extremely ironic considering we have Plainsmen, Aubie, War Eagles and Cam Newton as mascots

Yeah the block seating area really isn't as great as people make it out to be. There are better seats in the student section. Used to just have someone save them for me, but since they cracked down on that I've just been getting to the game early. I actually don't mind getting there early either since I'm not huge on drinking much before games unless it's like last year and we're non competitive.

And like others have said, there's a chance that block seating won't even exist next year.

See, that's what those that don't go to the games with me would think. There are several reasons I don't get drunk on gamedays for games I'm going to be attending, but it all boils down to the fact that games are more enjoyable for me sober. I get plenty of drinking in the rest of the week.

Now if it's an away weekend and I'm in Auburn...

For people interested in this stuff,

Takeo Spikes, Stephen Davis and a few other high profile Auburn football alums made it in for this game

OP Updated.
quote:

Update 10/8: Nick Marshall may be going down to Gulf Breeze to get his knee drained. If this is the case, look for Jeremy Johnson to start, at minimum, the Western Carolina game. Sounds like this kind of procedure often indicates ligament damage and could be a serious problem for Marshall moving forward.

There's a big ol' thread on the Bunker about it.

Not a mod but one of the regular "insiders," hence the "may" qualification. Figure if it's true, we'll hear more about it the closer we get to Saturday

It seems like if JJ starts it could mean Marshall may be out for awhile. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to pull Johnson's RS for Western Carolina only when we could probably run every play and still win by a large margin.

Yep, Wallace could take us to a easy victory this week.

the problem is stunting marshall's development, imo... we could win the game with anyone on this board starting as QB... but we need to continue to develop the passing game. It's the only way we have a shot at beating the decent teams on our schedule.
