Nick Marshall is a little banged up (with what seems like half the team), this cupcake game comes at a good time before we head west to take on the Aggies at Kyle Field.
GAME WEEK NOTES
Key injuries include, on varying levels:
1 Montravius Adams
8 Cassanova McKinzy
11 Chris Davis Jr.
13 Craig Sanders
14 Nick Marshall
26 Justin Garrett
54 Jeffery Whitaker
89 Jaylon Denson
Word from Hoke is that the coaching staff planned on having Jeremy Johnson play some last night. He has progressed at a rapid pace during practice and the coaching staff is looking to get him involved in the games.
Frazier has been working with the WRs
No known official visitors
While Auburn is unranked following their win against former #23 Mississippi, they gained 61 points in the October 6 AP poll, good for #26 in the nation.
Update 10/8: Nick Marshall may be going down to Gulf Breeze to get his knee drained. If this is the case, look for Jeremy Johnson to start, at minimum, the Western Carolina game. Sounds like this kind of procedure often indicates ligament damage and could be a serious problem for Marshall moving forward.

Rest the injured, play the young guys on D, let Mason, CAP and Grant each get 100.

Will we get to see JJ in this game? Not sure why we take his redshirt off now? I would personally like to see him and wouldn't worry about his redshirt with the other QB's we have committed. Hard choice to be sure.

Why would we burn his redshirt so late in the year??
Posted on 10/6/13 at 2:40 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
I hope not. Hate to burn his shirt unless absolutely necessary.

My logic agrees, but my curiosity and selfishness wants to see him play already...

Yeah, wish you could play 1 game and still red shirt. I would love to see him run the show for a game.

I get what you are saying but I think more work would help Marshall.

5-1 and hopefully ranked going into TAMU is going to be sweet.

I have no problem burning his redshirt if the staff thinks he'll help us win or compete in big games

What is the joke calling out our mods? I haven't been around much of late.

Seriously I was fricking kidding around. If you want to throw around a heavy hand feel free. Your vagina is showing.

Wow. Unless Marshall can suddenly develop some touch on the ball, the change might not be far off.

After Marshall's running the ball, I have a hard time believing they will bench Marshall seeing as he bought himself a lot of good faith. Probably not worth burning the redshirt now unless they really believe he can be the difference in winning some games

I highly doubt we see Jeremy Johnson on the field this year. The best we can hope for is that Marshall's passing abilities continue to improve. If he can hit the deep ball consistently he'd be a good one.

Agreed, it makes no sense overall as long as NM is healthy. only 7 games left. I think Nick is close and the first long throw to Coates was actually perfectly thrown until Ole Miss DB grabbed Coates some and slowed him down.
