He is in Gus dog house which is why he isn't playing

He played, though...

Yup our lack of depth really showed Saturday when our 3rd string RB rushed for over 100 yds...

Last season we had such little depth, we had to move a WR to RB. Now that guy is gone and we added one guy who is not sec ready. We are not deep at RB

horse shite. Miller has played very well when given the opportunity.

He looks like a bigger Tre Mason. He falls forward, doesnt get arm tackled and protects the football. Hell of a blocker as well.

You still act as if Auburn under Gus historically has larger backs. That just isn't factually correct

You are really having a hard time following this

Good every down backs under Gus at Auburn

Ben Tate
Michael Dyer
Tre Mason
Cameron Artis Payne
Peyton Barber
Kam Pettway

Which ones are not basically big, bruising backs? And I never said 230 pound backs.

4/6 you listed were under 220 and 3/6 were 210 or under.

You guys are giving Lanier shite -- and I don't know if he ever said >220# or not -- but the fact is there a lot of difference in what a guy who is 205# and one who is 185# can do at the point of attack over the course of a game.

Sure, the guys who are 185-ish might be more effective catching passes out of the backfield and can break long runs and get you a couple of TDs. But after 8-10 dive plays, the guys who are 185-ish are less and less effective. The bruisers who are 205# can continue pounding in the 4Q and keep the Defense honest.

I won't argue that having your pick from both is best. But I always want two big backs on the roster who can do what is needed to perform in short yardage and help manage the clock in the 4Q. I hope we have that come Spring.

You mean how you set it at 210LB for scat backsarbitrarily? Or how you are bitching that we have only 3 RB >210lb?

Because you are talking out of your arse since both Bama/UGA don't have more than 3-4 scholarship RBs >210LB

Some are fricking with me. Some know I was right. Some agree and a few are just too stupid to keep up

This goes back to the discussion TigerPaw and I have been having all summer about recruiting. It has nothing to do with a specific weight or size. It is exactly what you just laid out.

TigerPaw gets it. he knows exactly what I have said and what I meant. He does not agree with me but thats cool. I get his opinion. Others are just not able to keep a coherent discussion without looking for a way to turn it

We need to recruit some bigger, every down backs. We have enough scat top backs. That is the basis....

Ben Tate - 218lbs
Michael Dyer - 220lbs
Tre Mason - 208lbs
Cameron Artis Payne - 212lbs
Peyton Barber - 225lbs
Kam Pettway - 240lbs

All would be considered big , every down backs in the Lanier running back system

Those weights you listed are their weights at the end of their Auburn careers. It is not unexpected that Devan Barrett gains 25 pounds over the next two years.

before saturday, KJ missed 1.75 games with injuries Arkansas 2016 is literally the only full game he hasn't played in in 2 years

Luckily, half of his injuries thus far have been rehabilitated during the off-season. His history of injuries at the collegiate level is as follows:

Right shoulder surgery (Spring, 2016)

Right ankle injury against Mississippi State (October 8th, 2016)

High ankle sprain during A-Day (April 8th, 2017)

Right leg lower hamstring injury against Georgia Southern (September 2nd, 2017)

If we are being objective, we have to acquiesce to the fact that he does seem to be prone to injuries. That 1.75 number is deceptive.

Although I don't view bigger running backs as more able/likely to be an "every down back," I agree, I like the idea of recruiting bigger running backs. That being said, Harold Joiner fits the bill if he can learn to run behind his size.

I think he will be in Clemson this weekend.

Semantics

Like I said, a few can add weight but more often than not, they can't.

Lets hope he does. My point all the time has been that we are not recruiting backs that can help us every down. Why are we recruiting projects that need to gain 25 pounds over a two year period before they can help us like we need them to do
