Shoe contract was an issue but definitely blown out of proportion.

It was a major issue for Barbee because he refused to work with Under Armour. He even called them out and called them a burden a few times in the press. They sure weren't going to assist him with anything after all that. On the other side of the coin one of the 1st things Pearl did is go to UA headquarters with most or the entire staff to ask them how he could help them out.

I was just meant that people act like having Under Armour destines you to be a bottom 5 program no exception. It definitely is easier to be a Nike favorite but having Under Armour isn't a death penalty for basketball, just a hurdle

...to me, this is just another example showing Barbee's stupidity and Pearl's intelligence.

I bet UA saw that as quite the thoughtful gesture for Pearl to go there and ask how UA and Auburn can work together to promote their brand in basketball.

Pearl has made himself a big fish in UA's basketball pond of small fish.

While we may not have the type of access to the Nike/Adidas kids that other school have, we don't have the stiff competition with our UArmour AAU teams

Recruiting notes per Hoke

-If AU adds any more to the class it will be a grad transfer type. power forward will have priority per AU sources
-Canty is still the shite @ PG
-Danjel has developed a good shot & dribble create skills since transferring to Hargrave. He's more than a great athlete now
-looking to add 2 more recruits in the 2016 class as things stand now
-Will be tough to get Langford (Duh)
-in much better & good shape w/ Austin Wiley for 2017

I agree and knew what you meant. I was just showing why UA was such a hindrance to Barbee.

Leaving Bibb Co was the best thing that could have happened to Danjel. It allowed him to play exclusively on the perimeter and continue a lot of the growth that he started showing this past summer in AAU.

His sleeve etiquette seems to be lacking. Will need a heavy dose of our Sleeve & Conditioning program in the offseason to get up to speed. Seems to have a good foundation to start from, though.

.I'm too old and too white. I couldn't do the sleeve thing. It would feel weird as hell. I like stuff loose when I'm playing basketball.

Nah man, sleeves are great. Me and a buddy use to sleeve up playing beer pong back in college just for laughs, cause we were cool like that. Instantly allowed us to hit the turn around - fade away final cup shot. Kobe!

Coming from someone who sweats like there is no tomorrow, it actually does help in that regard

I use to hate wearing long sleeves while playing but now I pretty much work out and play ball exclusively in long sleeves

You who we need? A clone of Seth Tuttle from Northern Iowa. He's a future All-Star IMO. Love his game. Big 6'8" 240 corn fed white farm boy from Iowa. Athletic as hell for his size. He can run it down the court like a guard. Shoots 45% from 3. He plays so well in the paint I legit thought he was 7 foot and was surprised when I pulled up his profile and saw he was only 6'8"

And to top it off he's a leader, stays quiet and let's his game talk, and he works hard and is tough. He's statistically one of the best offensive players in the county but his most impressive stat to me is that he's started every single game in his career. 135 games and counting.
