Someone with inside info said he would never play basketball again. Not at a high level anyway.

JGT has been saying that for months FWIW.

Hard to view that as a loss.

And to thirdlawson's dismay Purchase is still expected to leave to make room for a grad transfer big man.

Wish he would have stayed healthy. I thought he could have been a solid player with some good instruction + healthy.

I want Shonn Miller from Cornell though. That kid can straight up ball

Per Hoke, sources say Atewe never bought into the program. It may have been due to his second leg injury but his departure is something staff was considering if MA didn't transfer on his own.

Mike Thorne Jr. would be an awesome pickup as well, 6'11 grad transfer from UNC- Charlotte. Averaged 10 points & 7 boards per game, Kansas is looking to add him but supposedly we have talked to people in his camp.

Even if we got Thorne JR as a big, we should seriously look at picking up Shonn Miller. He would be arguably our best player next year he is that good

Wouldn't mind doing that by dropping Purchase & putting Thompson back as a walk on. Would definitely change the whole outlook on this team if we add both.

Just imagine a starting lineup of
PG- Canty
SG- Dunans
SF- Miller
PF- Bowers
C- Thorne Jr

With first off the bench being
PG- TSD/Brown
SG- Williams
SF- Purifoy/Lang
PF- Spencer/Granger/Thompson
C- Reed/ Waddell

Quality depth.

This would be closer to the truth

Added the walk ons because they gave us quality play at times.

Moved Bowers to the bench

None of the walkons would serve a roll next year if we pulled those guys. We would have height and depth at all the wings/front court which is where our "valuable" walkons play

Listen here I like to think of them as depth if they are needed and it makes me feel good about our bball team,
ALRIGHT?!

But in regards to Miller it is extremely unlikely we land him idk why I'm getting myself pumped up.

How does the news of Atewe transferring affect our scholarship count?

Frees up a scholarship for Horace Spencer, if we want to add anyone else then someone will have to leave.

We can dream

Means that when Purchase leaves, we will have an open spot for that "extra big man" Pearl wants.

Also means that when we put Thompson back on Walk on status, Shonn Miller can come ball for us. Oh please basketball gods
