I don't remember him ever being committed to Texas Tech.

His uncle coached at a Texas school and he was originally committed to one of them

Here is a very brief news release about him decommitting from Auburn and references the Texas Tech one as well

He was caught with Mary Jane possession on his Florida OV with a Florida DB on the team at the time. I don't remember which one. The staff dropped him after that.

While we're at it, does anyone know the story behind Carl Lawson being sent home from The Opening? I started to wonder shortly after his skip to my Lou celebration.

Didn't he have an issue with Suh?

They had a pizza making contest and Lawson spit on Suh's in the final, lighting round, to assure the win.

Do we have a chance with CJ Hampton?

At last report we were 3rd behind Ole Miss and Bama but the fact he plans to make another visit to Auburn means he is definitely interested in us.

Good. Lawson is competitive and Suh is a dick.

Apparently Lawson did spit on a pizza or something like that. I don't know anything about he and Suh, though.

He looks like a solid player but I never felt like adding a JC OT was a good idea.

I agree. I'm a little surprised we recruited him so hard. It would be for depth only, but we've got good, young depth there right now. Would have been a wasted scholarship, imo to bring in a juco OT. Maybe they wanted to see if he could have played inside.

At some point though, we have to bring in the next wave of high school OTs... G-rob and Miller will be JRs next season... it would be nice to avoid our 2012 OL situation by recruiting guys now to fill shoes in 2015 and 16.

We will not need any OTs for 2015 season and likely will not need more than 1 for 2016 season

2014- GRob, PMiller
2015- GRob, PMiller
2016- Avery Young, Shon Coleman + 2015 class RS FR

(additionally, Shane Callahan, Robert Leff and Will Adams)

Hard to imagine Avery Young leaves before getting the chance to play OT as his draft stock will skyrocket with a year at OT.

Shon Coleman will be awildcard in terms of how his season unfolds

We are going after Mitch McCary pretty hard the 5 Star top 5 player and #1 OT. There also are other targets early in the process

He reminds me of a more polished Menelik Watson in terms of ability to come in and start. Only problem is we have a RS SO starting at LT and a SO at RT

Where would he play? Yes you could move Greg Robinson inside to guard but then you have a logjam at guard with Kozan, Young, Diamond, Mix and Danzey all lookingg for playing time.

Probably saves the headache of having someone potentially transfer that we need downthe road for a single player who is almost for sure one and done
