Clay Travis was on the radio this morning saying Arkansas would be insane not to go after Kiffin right now. He said, and I agree, that he should hire Kendall Briles as his OC and run the Baylor offense. With Kiffin as the Head recruiter and Briles Deeeep Texas ties, it would actually be a pretty good mix.

With Long here though I can't see that hire ever happening.....but damn would that be a fun Team to watch and root for... It would REALLY shake up the SEC

First off Kiff would never give up play calling duties.
Second when has he ever been a good recruiter? It's easy to do at Bama.
Third he wasn't successful at Tennessee.
Last but not least, I don't think he has the work ethic which is sorely needed here. This is also the reason why he and Saban clashed so much.

Lets just fire Long first then Bert, then we don't have to worry about his pussy arse making another "Integrity" hire

I took it as some are so against Gus they would rather have Bert. Which is dumb. It's proven who is the better coach at this point.

I would almost rather have another year of Bert than 3-4 years of Gus. I was really asking why the push for Gus. I could have understood if before Bert but not now. Don't get me wrong, I know Gus is a much better coach than Bert.

The "pull back" is this... Let things simmer a bit before making a quick decision to offer GM...

Several want him, others do not want what comes with him. All of the drama, power brokers aiming for their spot in the circle of power, etc.

I fear Malzahn would be Nutt 2.0 but even worse. If he under performs here, and there is good reason to think he will, then it would be a God awful mess to get rid of him.

Totally agree. Gus would be an upgrade to Bert, but he wouldn't do any better than Nutt. He would never be able to recruit to Arkansas the kind of talent he has at Auburn.

How is Leach even close to being anything like Nutt?

The same way that DVH should be fired. I can’t believe that y’all keep falling for his schtick

Could you image Gus with a bigger more accurate version of Cam?

it simply isn't good enough. We are capable of being better than both of those coaches have shown with the right hires...

There is no evidence of that this century.

The more this shite goes, the more I think Long will be in trouble... When there's 27,000 ppl at the Coastal Carolina game... It should Send shivers up the Boards' spines. The integrity bullshite is a fricking disaster.

To put it bluntly, I can't imagine being pathetic enough to want someone else's broken down leftovers that can't succeed where he's at with better recruiting.

It's freaking idiotic to me.

You're saying Malzahn hasn't succeeded at Auburn?

Not really, no, given what he's had to work with. He most definitely makes idiotic decisions at times which is something I believe every fan of Auburn would agree with and by that I don't mean one play a few times a year, I mean games worth of idiotic tendencies. He's supposed to be an offensive genius yet his defense has been what has made Auburn even remotely successful the past 2 seasons.

Yes, he's done better than Bert, woopity freaking do.

He's only had one year at Auburn where they finished outside the top 25 and it was still a winning season. He's won the SEC Championship and went to the Sugar Bowl just last year. Saying he's done better than Bert is an incredible understatement, if he had that type of success at Arkansas we would build him a statue.

Yeah but he wouldn't have near that kind of success here with our talent.

I would rather lose every fricking game by 50 than have Gus.

Admittedly the majority of my donations are to the academic side, not the sports side.. but those are gone if Gus is hired. I'm not the only one that feels that way either.

The University of Arkansas is an institution of learning, not a monument to greedy assholes like Ronnie Floyd.
