I agree to an extent, and then I followed him on twitter, watched his pressers, noticed his recruiting, watched his team get fired up, etc.

His offense is awesome, his recruiting as well, his coaching is not bad, his PR game is crisp.

His maturity????

One of the problems that you mentioned is the in fighting of his team. When you recruit talent over character, this is one issue. It is hard to have it both ways at FAU or Arkansas. Simply because of the higher tiered programs offering the same talent minus the character prob. kids.

The problem above is why I bet Long never considers it.

Nor should he.

Kiffin spent a season turning Tennessee into a complete joke. Similar to Bert (though much worse), he walked into a program with a lot of tradition and acted like they were Western Carolina State Community College and thought he had to resort of theatrics to drum up publicity. He left for USC where it took him 3 years to turn them into a joke, whereupon the players were fighting in the locker room over Matt Barkley’s honor after losing to a 6-7 Georgia Tech team. Oh yeah, I forgot to add that that USC team was the preseason AP #1 team in the country.

He’s never built anything. He’s twice been the face of a major college program and both times it’s ended in disaster. USC players said after he was gone that he was completely disconnected and disinterested in being a head coach.

The jury is in on this guy.

Not directed at you (love ya Rev), but I always knew our fan base was pretty dumb when it came to coaching searches, and openly clamoring for Lane Kiffin takes the cake. If we’re going to hire a disingenuous drifter, hell, let’s just take Petrino back, and I say that as someone who loathes that POS.

Kiffin is NOT a leader. Enough said.

You make a pretty dang good argument.

I still think his offensive schemes are masterful, petrinoesque, If you will....

His recruiting would be great, I think...

And most of what you said is a maturity problem. If he is still "that guy" it would suck.

Thanks...

Is it that obvious I’m not a fan of Kiffin?

Here is the thing... I think Bielema's recruiting has been great. No, seriously.

We've got more players in the NFL then you can shake a stick at.

Its not just getting them to campus, its developing a coherent team around what you have. Bielema has failed miserably to do so.

Lane Kiffen landed two "God must love you" head coaching jobs in a row... and was pretty miserable at both. He can get players. Bielema can get players. What we need is someone who can use those players.

Well, I know it is CUSA right? but right now he hasn't lost a game in conference and is lighting up the scoreboard some games.

Now, I understand that it isn't necessarily SEC level recruits, but he can recruit as we have seen at Tenner and USC.

again, I think it is maturity issue, if he got that under control, he would do very well.. or so I choose to believe.

I mean, the guy is 42 years old. At a certain point he is what he is in terms of his maturation and how he behaves.

That’s about like saying “ya know if Mike Leach would just act like a normal person he could get a big time job.”

We’ve had enough coaches here that beat the teams they shouldn’t and then lose to the teams they shouldn’t.

he's gonna win 8 games a year every year guaranteed. That's all I want is a basement of 8 wins. Even if our ceiling is only 10 or 11.

Leach would absolutely never win 10-11 here at Arkansas

I could see him winning 10 once or twice. Probably not ever 11.

But on the other hand, I'm pretty sure he would average around 8, with 6 guaranteed.

Better than we we have now.

So he would be an improvement over shithead should all other options fail.

So like if bert is kept does he make a switch to a hurry up spread offense? In an attempt to save his butt like he is doing with the 3-4?

I just do not actually see how he stays, but I was just thinking about if somehow he isn't fired/leaves.

After the shite talk he has done in regards to other offenses, doubt it.

I don't know about a HUNH spread, but I know they're targeting some big time dual threat QB. Looks like they would like to add the toss dive to their repertoire.

We would go to a pure wildcat before that would happen.
