I like Dino Baber and after this season he's going to have two years in a not only a P5 conference job, but one that can be tough to win at. He's had success at Eastern Illinois and Bowling Green.

He has some ties to the Midwest but he also spent quite a few years at A&M and Baylor so he knows our backyard as well. Depending on how the season goes, and Syracuse flamed out last year down the stretch, he might be someone to take a serious look at.

Yup he's ready for the SEC

I don't understand your point here. That is an outstanding record for a coach who hasn't spent more than 2 years at any of those places.

Not saying I want him but I don't see how you can hold his record against him.

Not spending more than 2 years at any head coaching job is a bit of a red flag for me. I'd like to see someone with a track record of building and/or sustaining success. His record always improves in year 2, but I'd like to see what years 3 and 4 look like with a roster full of his recruits.

Wouldn't be a legit coaching search thread without the week to week myopia of adding Coach Who Had Big Win and removing Coach Who Had Bad Loss.

We're in agreement there. He's not at the top of my list but I wouldn't melt if he was hired.

welcome to hiring an up and coming mid major young guy. this is what it's like and you're rolling the dice.

Not necessarily. Two years is almost too small of a sample size, and practically all of your seniors, juniors and redshirt sophomores are the previous coach's recruits. Three years is what I'd ideally like to see out of an up and comer.

No he couldn't get his team up after 2 big games. Every week in the SEC is a big game. They got destroyed.

The criteria I think matter to me are:
1. Experience: It's a big step up when you move to a P5 program. Winning at a P5 program has to do with resource management, recruiting, and X's and O's. So it'd be nice to have a coach that has some exposure to that.
2. Burnout Potential: CFB is a pressure cooker. There are a lot of coaches out there who don't do well having to rebuild a second time. Tommy Tuberville struggled at his later stops and then basically kind of quit.
3. Sustained Improvement: Coaches that have shown the ability to rebuild or at least sustain some improvement at a program.

So realistically, the names I like are:
Morris-Probably going to TAMU, but I still would like him
Gundy-Worries he might be burned out, but he has a good offensive mind.
Fuente-Will have to fight for him with VaTech
Brohm-Will have to fight for him
Fleck-See Brohm
Schiano-A little worried that he might be burned out

No way. We stand behind our coach through adversity. We don't jump ship once things start going South.

leach is a great coach. shite happens one loss doesn't change that. It was a weird game where his team had am assload of turnovers. I guess dabo isn't a good coach either. Jesus overreact much
