Hate it for the kid, he is representative of all good things hog related!

If DJ would have just been able to stay out of the doghouse (and secure the ball a little better) we would talking about him as one of our all time greats.
SOB never went down on the first hit, in fact he usually took the offensive on the first guy and a lot of times knocked him on his arse and kept trucking. Loved his running style.

He is a hard worker and if this injury is as bad as it looks then I hope we take him off the roster for a year. Better to get him more then healthy when he finally goes out to the pros then anything else.
Yeah, it doesn't help us at all. We have some young talent but Alex Collins has to step up big this season. We need some people down in the depth chart to make some noise now.

DJ was a good compliment to Knile, but neither he or Wingo wasn't able to help close a game out like Knile did against LSU in 2010.
The idea that you can lose a player like Knile or JWILL in August before the season and not have a drastic set back at the position is laughable.
However, McFadden kicked a guy in his flip flops during the summer breaking a toe and missed one game that season, just have to hope that JWILL's injury isn't major.

frick. JWill is a great guy and player.
I still think we'll have a good season but I'm not as optimistic about pulling off 10 wins now either.

As bad as it looks?
Specifically what is the injury?

I'd like to take this opportunity to say frick Korliss Marshall for being a dumbass and getting himself booted after an insane amount of chances.

No joke.
I'm seeing a lot that think 6-8 week recovery. If that's the case that's at the start of SEC play, 3 weeks before first game is almost half that recovery time. We don't need him to beat UTEP, Toledo, or TTU.

Could be a blessing in disguise if he's 100? by sec play

I'm hoping he can be back by the bye week in prep for Auburn. That would be 9 weeks from his injury, Auburn would be 10 weeks. He would be a man on a mission with pretty fresh legs for the final 6 games.

I think that's our best case scenario hope for the moment, until the surgery/prognosis statement.

We will miss J. Will's explosiveness and versatility.
Hopefully Collins can wear some teams down then we can pound walker at the end of games.
He is no J. Will but due to his size we can use him as a sledgehammer in the 4th quarter.

The Morning Rush guys were talking that same time frame on the radio this morning. They mentioned that we have 2 weeks of camp left, followed by a 6 week stretch (three of which he's not needed) of UTEP, Toledo, Tech, A&M, Tennessee and Bama, followed by a bye week. That's 9 weeks of recovery plus the week of prep for the Auburn game on October 24th. I'm optimistic that's doable, but granted, we know pretty much nothing beyond what we've been told thus far. Hopefully Bert will have some good news this afternoon.
Even if he can't make it by Auburn, we have UT-Martin the week after, so that's an additional three weeks beyond before our 4 game stretch run of Ole Miss, LSU, State and Mizzou.

Well, the Sun came up this morning..
Time to put RWIII on the fast track.
Wonder if he can overtake Kody for the #2 spot, or will CBB want to stick with Kody's experience?
