We should know by now not to trust our media though. I'll believe it when it happens.

The kid isn't in any position to make demands these days. I don't have a clue how Dyer operates now in 2013 and I definitely am not one of those that scorns kids for life if they leave Arkansas. I can't for the life of me see why BB letting him walk on means there will undoubtedly be locker room drama and general bull shite. A grudge from his HS & Auburn days is
No grudge, I've dealt with plenty of people like him .
For example he is kicked off the team at stAte after being pulled over with his hand gun in the car, but he ended up at stAte after being suspended for the bowl game for failed tests in 2011.
quote:
"It gave me one of those highs where it blocked the world out for a little bit," Dyer said. "It kept my mind off things. But I've gone six months without it. I have let go of the urges. I have done it with the help of my family."
This was a quote from 10 days ago, 6 months ago would have been Jan. of 2013, meaning he smoked it up while at Arkansas Baptist and only cleaned up when it became time to find a new program...
The other point is the last time he played in the SEC, he saw his carries increase over his freshman year, from 182 to 242, his YPC declined from 6.0 to 5.1.
J-Will being used by Paul Petrino in a Paul Petrino offense was good for 5.1 YPC his freshman year.
The main difference is Dyer has 3 career receptions for 16 yards while J-Will has 8 for 208.
So the question will be for Dyer (and Collins) how they will handle backing up J-Will this year... Collins I think will be fine, Dyer not so much.

Didn't say he did, just that he's finally acknowledging that it could happen. He was acting like it was a 0% chance.

I waver on this daily because I'm a fickle Razorback fan that has come to expect the worst being the bastard offspring of Forrest City Joe.
Right now, I'm 60% against, 30% for, 10% DGAF.

I love J Will but he hasn't shown he can be that every down back in the SEC yet and that's not his fault. He only took 43 handoffs last year. You can't say because J Will averaged 5.1 and had like 200 something yards that he would do the same being asked to take 20-30 handoffs a game. Out of high school, J Will was a taller guy who bases his game on speed and elusiveness, hence the gaudy receiving numbers he put up. We have no clue how well he'll do in his role of "power back" that the new staff wants with the 15 or so lbs that he added. He said he's faste now but they always say that. I would be shocked if that's true with the weight he's put on. He could shine or he could regress. We don't know. And the spring game certainly didn't show us anything.
Dyer we KNOW can be the type of power back that Bielema wants. He's a lot like MJD. He's not a guy who's gonna outrun a secondary if he hits the outside like Williams is. But he's a guy who will bounce off defenders like a pinball and will always fight for extra yards and get them. He's an extra weapon that would help us tremendously. Teams will have to game plan differently for Dyer, Williams and Collins. And not to mention the change of pace in Nate Holmes.
I don't know why you don't think he'd be okay with being Willaims' backup. The kid said he'd walk on here instead of taking a scholly somewhere else if we let him. He knows we have guys in our backfield who he'll share carries with. He could EASILY go to a mid major somewhere, be the center of the offense, put up insane numbers and boost his draft stock that way. What's it gonna take to convince you he's been humbled? He wants to make things right with Arknsas and right his wrongs.

I've been told this is a done deal and he will be on the team next year.
I guess we will find out soon. Between what I was told and all the smoke now coming from the media it looks like it is just a matter of time.

You don't have to believe it. Hell if I was you I probably wouldn't either. To me the point of message board is to share what information you have and this happens to be from someone who has been right more times than they were wrong.

Joe Schad @schadjoe: Former Auburn RB Michael Dyer was in Tampa this weekend. USF is a school to watch as Dyer seeks new school.
Brent Sobleski @brentsobleski: Source: It's "very doubtful" Arkansas would consider adding transfer Michael Dyer despite Dyer's desire to play for the program. #Razorbacks
