In regards to Texas's rushing defense they gave up more yards per game than UA but teams also run the ball a lot more against them than UA saw. UA actually is ranked 7th in the country for lowest rushing attempts per game against with 32. Texas is 99th with all most 43 attempts per game against them. So based on those numbers yes they will probably have more yards against them per game which does skew the numbers a bit.

am i wrong when i state this? coach bo has something that non of you super coaches has. a freaking national championship ring. that HIS d-line coaching went a very long way in producing.

but aside from that. there seems to be something else all y'all championship winning coaches missed. cns stated that the coach/player relationships off the field had suffered. and apparently, coach bo is very good in this area.

so heres what we get with the return of coach bo. theres no learning curve for him in the saban system. recruiting is equal to what we had. coaching is equal to what we had. coach/player relationships, way better. this in turn will have a positive effect on the kids attitudes and effort. all my opinion.

Apparently Orgerom didnt click with Saban. You think we should have gotten him anyway?

Im not trying to be an arse, but are you familiar with a 34 defense? The dlineman are usually playing 2-gap so that they eat up blocks which allows the linebackers or defensive backs to get to the quarterback on blitzes. This allows you to bring pressure from anywhere on the field. Sometimes these obviously change depending on the personnel you have and the situation, an example that you might be familiar with is Upshaw playing the five technique or the outside shoulder of the tackle on obvious passing downs, but in general the lineman arent trying to generate a pass rush, but enable it.

I understand how the 3-4 works. There is still room for playmakers on the edge like Upshaw and Dareus that can produce a rush.

No, I was responding to the poster that said Davis has a ring and the other candidates didn't.
