Like Applewhite.

He didn't show me much last night.

Every phase of the offense took a step back last night. FSU had something to do with that, but we couldn't even take advantage when we broke their will.

Sorry, i expect more than just adequate from our offense,

FLORIDA! STATE! HAS! AN! ELITE! DEFENSE! Why do you all expect for our defense to make QBs look less than stellar and don't expect the same thing to happen to us?

Because we're Alabama and have more talent on both sides of the ball than any team in the nation.

Funny how people don't understand this. We have better personnel at every single position group on offense than anyone in the country - except for QB.
So when our offense does poorly there's only two places the blame should go - to the QB, to the OC, or to both. Also, possibly to Saban as well

And Florida State has arguably the second most talented roster in the country. Their class recruiting rankings over the last four years have been as follows:

2017 - #6
2016 - #3
2015 - #3
2014 - #4

4-Year Average: #4

So they are easily among the elite in terms of NFL talent. Only Ohio State and LSU have comparable talent to them.

So what you're saying is that our offense should've performed just as well, if not better, than their defense. I agree with you.
Instead, our offense (with a returning QB) looked like a broken toy with springs flying everywhere

If you couldnt see that talent on the field idk what to tell you. Guys were making 1v1 tackles and smothering the offense when we tried to move laterally.

No. Because match-ups.

Their defensive line was better than our offensive line. We were being out-physicaled at the point of attack. The sideline reporter said it best after our second series on offense. Our OL was on the bench with oxygen masks on.

FSUs talent be damned. I expect 3 yd runs to turn into 15 yard runs when the opponent shows their belly.

I thought that's what we were getting back to with DaBoll. That anaconda offense.

The OL didn't play well, as everyone has pointed out ad nauseum. It probably had something to do with the fact that we had a QB who, aside from one play, threw for 40 yards on the night. Where's the risk in them pinning their ears back?

You do realize the measure of talent isn't an exact science don't you? For instance, Ronnie Harrison. He was the 12th ranked safety coming out of high school, but is considered the 2nd best safety in the country behind James. Also, the difference in measuring the 10th overall player and the 15th best is negligible in most cases. So Alabama having the most talent on the field at one time isn't always that big of an advantage, the advantage comes in in the form of having far more depth

When a QB has very little time to throw because his line can't block three or four rushers, how is he supposed to complete those throws? Hurts made some mistakes, too. Don't get me wrong. But it's really difficult for a QB to complete throws when they are consistently being driven out of the pocket by a steady rush.

Ok well I've heard hurts hasn't improved to nauseum. Their poor performance kept hurts on the move very quickly he had few chances to make throws. The ones he made were good. If he misses a shite load of throws against chumps then get mad.

Ya know I think Harrison played equal or better than James. He did not equal the hype, at least not in this game. The media talked up James like he was Lawrence Taylor reincarnated.

This isn't about Hurts. It's about DaBoll. He was an underwhelming hire and he did not impress last night.

The question was his longevity. I think he goes the way of Applewhite and Nuss, but we'll see,

Minkah is a better player to compare to James than Harrison is actually. The reason James gets so much love is his versatility. He played three positions last night. Minkah has played 4 positions for us over his career technically(free safety, strong, nickel and corner). I used Harrison as that example because of how his was ranked overall coming out compared to the rest in that class.
