re: Defense next season compared to the last 2 seasons - uofarolltide
We'll be really fricking good, just like every single year under Saban. Especially with Pruitt running the show. Don't forget that a lot of our badassness on defense last year could be attributed to Pruitt being much more aggressive ...

re: Blake Barnett blaming Saban for his reputation - uofarolltide
Except football is the ultimate team game. Selfish actions, especially at a leadership position like QB, have consequences.
Yeah, the consequences being that he'll be leading his team on the field next year instead of sitting on the bench. ...

re: Film Room Breakdown of Hurts - uofarolltide
If there's one thing Jalen Hurts isn't, it's scared. Blake Sims was scared. Blake Barnett was scared. Cooper Bateman played scared. Jalen Hurts is the opposite of scared Critique whatever you want about his arm, but his intangibles are through the roof, and that's why he won the job, as well as...

re: Film Room Breakdown of Hurts - uofarolltide
IF our defense makes one play late, we win. Sure But if our offense hadn't sucked cock the entire game, we also win. The reason the debate exists is because our offense couldn't get it done with maybe the best college D in history backing them up. At the end of the day, Jalen wasn't enough last...
style QB to win the job. But the way he quit told me all I need to know about him. The rumors of his parents interjecting themselves into things doesn't help his cause, either.
You mean the intelligent way he quit so that he'd be eligible to play next season? I don't fault him for d...

re: How do you feel about the 2017 schedule? - uofarolltide
My completely uninformed opinion is that Vandy's defense is gonna Jalen some problems. Obviously, were not gonna lose to Vandy, but I got a feeling that that game is gonna look ugly at times. I'm glad we have that three game stretch before Ole Miss after the opener though. Gives...

re: How do you feel about the 2017 schedule? - uofarolltide
Opening with FSU is worrisome. By far our toughest opener under Saban, and likely the toughest game of our regular season. Aside from that, no worries in the SEC. Same as usual. LSU and Auburn can give us trouble but nobody else...

re: Blake Barnett blaming Saban for his reputation - uofarolltide
I can't help but notice Barnett does survey the field and not just look at his first option. Had he stayed I can't help but wonder if he had grown during the year could Bama have won a NC with him because he is a far SUPERIOR passer to Hurts. It's not even close.
Exactly. It's a toug...

re: Blake Barnett blaming Saban for his reputation - uofarolltide
Barnett was a quitter. He might have been the most talented quarterback on roster, but he wasn't competitive enough to prove it. If he was as good as he thought he was, he should have stayed until the end of the year and he maybe could have beat out Hurts. I know he had a good reason for leav...

re: Blake Barnett blaming Saban for his reputation - uofarolltide
I think the important thing is what Bamadoc mentioned above. Hurts won the team Unfortunately, I have to agree that Barnett might've been the better QB long-term. He has a great, accurate throwing arm. He might even have NFL potential If Barnett lights it up at ASU, and Hurts continues to strug...
As a matter of fact, I am in favor of an actual scientific study to see just how marijuana affects one's ability to operate a vehicle. Anonymous funding so there is no bias or undue influence with a control group and various levels of dosing. Give me that and a test that can detect the amount...

re: Alabama Hires Patriots' TE Brian Daboll as Offensive Coordinator - uofarolltide
As has been said, we won a title with Doug freakin Nussmeier. We won a title with Lane Kiffin who didn't look so hot in the NFL either. On the subject of NFL coordinators, the NFL is an ENTIRELY different game. It almost bares no similarities. Heisman winning QBs go to the NFL and do nothing. ...

Why I Doubt We Get Chip Kelly - uofarolltide
Chip Kelly is still a highly reputable coach, unlike Sark and Kiffin when we hired them. Kelly could get a HC job at any major cfb program, or an OC job in the NFL. If he did happen to come here, it would only be for one season. I really want Saban to go after a young, innovative OC who's go...

re: Can we all agree to something about the QB situation? - uofarolltide
Agree we F'ed up letting Barnett go. God this offense was Shula painful to watch.
It was either Barnett, or Hurts. I'm personally glad they chose Hurts, but ya never know... So far, we've yet to win a national title with a dual-threat guy lacking in the throwing dept...

Yeah, if we learned anything from last offseason, never count anyone out from winning the QB race. If Tua looks like Deshaun Watson out there, turn him loose! I mean shit, eventually we have to get a QB who's first round material right? ...

re: Can we all agree to something about the QB situation? - uofarolltide
I've been very critical of Jalen's passing game, but looking back, he had an amazing season. Aside from Jake Coker, he might've been the best QB in year 1 under saban so far. He made so many plays throughout the year, and showed clutch ability against ole miss, lsu, and clemson. Tough as nails, an...
If I see Jacobs transfer for not enough carries I'm gonna be furious.
Why? He might be the 4th best back on the team. He, Emmons, and Harris are almost identical in ability. Somebody's gonna get left out...

re: Next year's backfield could be very SICK - uofarolltide
I disagree completely. If you can keep rotate to where all your players have fresh legs at the end of the game, you'll always own the fourth quarter. I don't think Bo looks so dominant late against Auburn and UW if he plays every snap of the game early. If Sark gives the other guys more t...
