so my opinion is that Hurts lack of a consistent passing game is way more responsible

Jalen Hurts is an 18 year old, first year QB. When your pitcher is throwing his 98 mph fastball past every hitter but his curve ball is getting pounded, you dont call the curve ball just to call it.

Peterson and his defensive coaches are not idiots. They know Kiffin lacks the discipline to stay with with the running game. If you paid attention to their defense, for much of the game they refused to stack the box and kept two safeties back. They knew they didnt have to stifle the run, just wait it out.

Hurts sucks so blame Lane. He may be a freshman but the fact is still that he sucks as a passer and teams have stopped him as a runner since we are facing real defenses. Everybody shredded Ole Miss. Plus he doesn't take care of the ball. Thank God Lane can win with bad quarterback play.

People see the writing in the wall with Hurts who is our ONLY option at QB who cannot throw the ball consistently or our OC is not putting him in the best position to pass the ball.

Yeah, well, obviously Nick Saban isn't.

Yeah, well, actually he is. He told him to GTFO and find another job. The best he could do was FAU and he blames that on CNS.

Kiffin refuses to adjust his play calling.

Hurts is having a horrible night, is clearly very off, it happens sometimes, no biggie. Bo is having a great night.

Common sense says use Bo more and use Hurts less.

Yet he doesn't. He continues to put the game in Hurts hands over and over.

Lane doesn't call good plays for his junior status and Hurts misses as in doesn't see some of the them and makes a few bad throws on others. You folks aren't getting the fact he isn't throwing much. Seeing the field comes with time. He made a below average pass to OJ but a great sideline pass to Dieter. If we actually ran first and passed downfield because of it, you would see a different result. Play calling makes it balanced or not. Great win.

Oh well. That's it for me. We won the game, and have only one more to go. This defense is so good, we might could win with the 1992 offense. I hope I don't jinx us, and I hope the offense plays lights out next game. I'm pretty confident the defense will.

RTR and I am out.

Stupidest post in the thread.

If Saban doesn't like how Kiffin is calling the game, he can always go take his headset away and send his arse to the locker room, if Kiffin rebels. You have to be one clueless football fan if you can't grasp that.

Thats great, we dominated a team that was really pretty outmatched. Unfortunately we cant pull that shite in the next game and cruise to an easy win.

You are still posting the 14 pass attempt stat like thats all the pass plays we called. Hurts was sacked 3 times. He also scrambled at the very least 5 times.

Your assertion that Hurts is a terrible passer doesnt help your argument. They know what Hurts can do and what he cant. They chose to stop running the ball when Washington has having a tough time stopping it. They also chose to pass the ball when Washington was owning our passing game.

That doesnt kill you, when at any time you can fall back on your reliable running game and world class D against an outmatched opponent. Against likely Clemson, this stupid arse strategy will get the team beat

No, just no. Saban has always given control of the offense to the OC. Pulling a stunt like you describe would become a huge story and would also make it hard to hire a good OC in the future. Sitting a coach isnt like sitting a player. You are ignorant if you think that

He is listed as having only 14 passes because he dropped back to throw the ball another 20 times, but ended up running the ball instead.

Where was the sweep ? Where were the short passes he's been making all season ? Where for the love of football is a simple slant ?

Honestly what is going on with the play calling ?

Are you here to defend the abortion we witnessed today, Huddie ? Really ?

It looked bad, but I put a lot of it on the O line. They got whipped all night. Bo made yards, including his big run, simply by being the baddest man on the field and breaking a lot of tackles.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw a Bama line get consistently owned like they did tonight.

Jesus. So Hurts averaged 4 yards per attempt and 2.6 ypc with a fumble.

If there was a stat for decision making it would look just as bad.

There's really no spinning that. He was terrible today.

This. He's had a great year but there is this weird segment of our fanbase that is ridiculously over defensive about him. They seem to want to believe he's this infallible wonder kid and ignore all valid criticism of him.

He's fumbled the ball more than any QB in America for starters.

I'm not bashing him. He's played great football at times. Today was not one of those times. Lots of blame to go around, though.
