My thought at the time was that CNS didn't like what he heard Barnett saying and was setting him straight. Then Kiffin comes over... and welp.... if you don't like it, you can hit the road, Jack.

that is a great GIF. Saban has got Kiffin bought in as frick

What's the vibe on him? Anyone hearing any wavering since Hurts took over?

The elite kids want to play immediately, or at least soon. JMO, but he's not likely to come and wait for 2 or 3 years.

That's just the breaks. As problems go, it's a relatively good one to have a very talented freshman like Hurts that other kids don't want to have to back up.

If you want a good spin, other than this might head off a potential divisive factor on the team, there is also the potential for Hurts to attract other elite dual threat qbs, and with the current rules, the game seems to favor that. You can have that and pro style offense too. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

He was never going to play with Jalen Hurts here. I hope he does good somewhere else, but if he's ever going to succeed he better take his head out of his surfer girlfriends arse
If that's what he was putting in her arse, then it's no wonder he couldn't master the offense.

That sucks, Bama might have needed him at some point this year. I hope Cornwell is finally healthy.

Bama will lose all the QB but Hurts in the offseason. Bateman will leave as a graduate transfer, Cornwell will be gone too. Bama will have 2 true freshman backups next year, maybe they can get a grad transfer QB to come in for depth next year.

Is there any benefit whatsoever in quitting the team now vs. waiting to the end of the season?

Does anyone know at what point Barnett would be eligible to play. If he has to sit out all next year after transfering what's the benefit of him doing it now? Especially when you consider he's one snap away from being the starting quarterback for a National champion contender.

This may work out for our benefit if we are able to add another scholly to this recruiting class.

To be fair, he did come in, and he competed, and he lost the competition.

Yeah. It's a damn shame the guy was recruiting hard for Alabama. Hope that never happens again.

That's impossible to determine without knowing exactly why he transferred.

If he has to sit out next season, then I would put money on Blake transferring to UCLA.

exactly why he transferred.

Let's explore this .
It can't be beneficial to transfer now for academics. He just threw away this entire semester. Could have helped down the road if he had earned a bachelor's and wanted to transfer again.
It can't be for football. He can't start working with another school. But maybe a QB coach?
I can only think of family and friends. Maybe he just wants to go back home and refocus.?

Yeah. Idc really. We have a very talented Frosh and a more than capable back up with some real experience. And will now get more reps if the team take control of games early on now that he is the 2

This, or he has a serious grievance with a coach or situation in Tuscaloosa. And it might well be legitimate.

Barnett has NFL potential. The window to display that potential for the NFL is a short one. He's not going to develop on the bench. Sucking it up for the "team" as some have insisted, can only hurt him professionally.

I hate losing him because we need a backup, and honestly, because up to this point Hurts has been pretty bad throwing downfield. It never hurts to have insurance, but it's pretty damn selfish to call a kid names because he's proactively seeking to improve his future.

Am I the only one who likes these things because it pretty much means Alabama isn't paying kids thousands of dollars right now?
