Cooper can't be any worse than he was last year. He should do fine as the backup. I'm not too worried about it. If it does come down to Bateman having to start bc of an injury to Hurts, at least we have 4 good RBs to depend on.

This sucks! This could be very bad for this years team. He's looked good when given the opurtunity in real game play. I know he struggled in practices / scrimmages but I'd feel a lot better with him coming in due to injury than the other 2. That being said , maybe the best thing for this kid is a smaller school with much less pressure. That talent is there , it'll be interesting to see where he goes and how his college playing career plays out. I don't think , with his throwing motion , that he will play after college but I do think he can get it done at this level.

This guy is a major talent. He'll be a better pro prospect than Hurts will.

I also said that Tagovailoa will opt for another school now, too, and that won't make me glad either, but thems the breaks.

Why would he leave now? Doesn't make sense. Feels like he (or his dad) gave an ultimatum and didn't get their way.

Good luck to him wherever he lands.

What a loser. Do it before the season. This past weekend was a perfect opportunity to get Bateman some much needed reps. But Mama's boy takes those reps knowing full well he was out the door.

I will say after watching him, he will never be anything anywhere else. Always seemed as if the moment was too big for him.

re: Barnett is transferring Posted on 9/28/16 at 4:41 pm to Cobrasize Does this change how many times Saban/Kiffin run Jalen Hurts now that they know the backup plan is Cooper freakin' Bateman?

One of the reasons why this is truly a kid quitting on his team.
When you consider the odds of a dual threat Qb possibility of getting knocked out of a game.

Why quit now at the start of true sec play.
When you are giving up a year of eligibility anyway.
You would maybe have a opportunity to showcase your talent if a injury accrues .
Every Potential school of high interest would have a chance to see you lead the number one team in the nation.

One some of college footballs biggest stages.
I understand you transferring but not now.!

I hope its cornwell that takes advantage of this transfer. A big arm is something that will come in handy.
ans he may not be that less mobile as B8 has shown.

Will Lowery is stating his opinion on this LINK
quote:

What a joke. 4 games into the season?? I mean you gotta have ZERO respect and sense of accountability to your TEAMmates. Selfish as it gets

quote:

If Im on the team then let me help u out the door pal..have fun being the starter on a mediocre team while UA continues to compete for rings

quote:

Sorry to be so opinionated but geez that's just terrible. Self serving. Bailing on your team halfway thru the mission... #notinmyfoxhole

quote:

You WERE still the backup QB, that's a very important role on the team. The sense of entitlement some kids have these days is mind boggling.

Adios Surfer boy. He was never going to play with Jalen Hurts here. I hope he does good somewhere else, but if he's ever going to succeed he better take his head out of his surfer girlfriends arse

The kid wants to start somewhere, who gives a shite if he wants to transfer. It literally has no affect on yall's lives, but it is a huge decision for him. Not telling you guys how to feel, or what to say or not say, but IMO, calling the guy a baby, and saying that his head is up his GF's arse is a VERY bad look.

Sure, it probably was an impulsive decision, but everyone on this board more than likely made stupid, impulsive decisions when they were that age, and I am willing to bet that there weren't a bunch of grown arse men calling you baby, and berating you for those decisions.

I wish him the best in the future, he's a talented kid.

But bailing on the team mid season is going to leave a bad taste in most peoples mouths.

Stereotypical Bama fans whose lives are too wrapped up in a football team made up of 18-22 year old guys.

Fully expected him to transfer, but midseason is surprising. I can't figure out what he stands to gain from transferring 4 games in anyway. He's still lost a semester of eligibility and will have to sit out next season as well unless he does the totally unexpected and drops down to FCS. Seems like he just threw a fit and made a rash decision. Regardless, it's never wise to burn bridges and this has come across that way to many people.

I still wish him luck, but I understand why many other Bama fans refuse to.
